The Tshwane Spartans are now the only undefeated team in the Mzansi Super League 2019, although, it must be remembered that they have just played two complete matches. The remaining three matches they were supposed to play were rained out.
The Spartans will now face the Paarl Rocks, currently at the top of the MSL 2019 League Table. This is going to be the second match between the Tshwane Spartans and the Paarl Rocks with the earlier encounter going firmly in favor of the Spartans.
A win here is going to help both the sides get a slight cushion moving towards the end of the group stage.
Tshwane Spartans vs Paarl Rocks MSL T20 is going to be played at SuperSport Park, Centurion on the 29th of November 2019.
The Tshwane Spartans won their previous match against a listless Jozi Stars side as AB de Villiers scored a fifty and Petrus van Biljon made some useful runs down the order. It was not the best batting performance but the eventual total of 155 proved to be more than enough to win.
The bowling in the previous match was excellent and helped the Tshwane Spartans win from a difficult position. The Jozi Stars were 113 for 2 in 12.4 overs before collapsing in a heap to 135 all-out.
Tom Curran and Morne Morkel took three wickets each while Roelof van der Merwe scalped two as well.
The match against an in-form Paarl Rocks side is going to be much tougher. We remain unconvinced by the Tshwane Spartans batting which seems quite dependent on AB de Villiers. Theunis de Bruyn and Dean Elgar have scored some runs but they are not natural T20 players that will be able to sustain that sort of form for the duration of a long tournament.
A batting collapse seems imminent for the Tshwane Spartans especially against a good bowling attack like the Paarl Rocks. We are, of course, leaving room for the genius of AB de Villiers to throw everything out of the window and win the match on his own!
The Spartans bowling attack is in good form. Tom Curran and Morne Morkel are superb T20 bowlers while van der Merwe has been decent in MSL 2019 as well. Lungi Ngidi, Lutho Sipamla, and Wiaan Mulder round out a very decent bowling unit.
Theunis de Bruyn, Dean Elgar, RE Van Der Merwe, AB de Villiers, Heinrich Klaasen, PJ van Biljon, Lutho Sipamla, Tom Curran, Wiaan Mulder, Morne Morkel, Lungi Ngidi.
Paarl Rocks continued to impress with their fourth victory in five completed matches and are now at the top of the MSL league table. They would be aware that they got away with some mistakes in the previous match against Cape Town Blitz, which they eventually won by just two runs.
A lot of the Paarl Rocks batsmen got starts but did not convert them into bigger scores. Faf du Plessis, James Vince, Dwaine Pretorius, and Henry Davids all let go of opportunities to bat the opposition out of the game.
Cameron Delport continued to struggle for form at the top of the order which is problematic looking at the lack of batting depth in the side.
The Paarl Rocks need one of their big players to start converting the starts into bigger scores soon otherwise it could end up hurting them in this match and in future knockout encounters.
Bjorn Fortuin and Tabraiz Shamsi have been the best bowlers for the Paarl Rocks They have been in the wickets in every single match and been very difficult to score off. Even in the previous game, it was the pair of them that started the fightback otherwise the Paarl Rocks seemed headed for a sure defeat.
Dwaine Pretorius has emerged as a reliable bowler but Isuru Udana and Hardus Viljoen need to work on their bowling ahead of this match.
The Paarl Rocks are quite similar to the Tshwane Spartans in the kind of side they are but they are lacking a T20 god-like AB de Villiers. This is why consistency and contributions from the entire team are paramount for them.
Henry Davids, C Delport, Faf du Plessis, J Vince, Sibonelo Makhanya, Mangaliso Mosehle, Isuru Udana, Ferisco Adams, Hardus Viljoen, Bjorn Fortuin, Tabraiz Shamsi.
The team that wins the toss is going to want to field first

We seem to be over the rainy spell that had descended on the Mzansi Super League and are now in the middle of some brilliant weather. The forecast in Centurion for the match is excellent. The sun should be shining and there is next to no chance of rain.
This will be the first match that is hopefully completed. The Tshwane Spartans scored 141 against Durban Heat and were 33 for 4 before the rain came down against the Nelson Mandela Bay Giants. It appears there will be some help for the bowlers and a score of around 150 could be quite competitive.
These are two closely matches teams with issues in their batting lineups. Both sides are stronger in bowling than they are in batting and this makes for an intriguing contest. We think the Paarl Rocks should be able to win thanks to the better form they have been in as well as slightly better batting capabilities.
Bet on the Paarl Rocks to win.
