UAE and Scotland are going to play each other as the ICC Cricket World Cup League continues. Both the teams have lost their previous match to USA and would have gotten a rude reality check. The competition between associate teams is getting tougher and old powers cannot take qualification for granted, especially now that the places on offer are also shrinking.
That the matches are being played in Sharjah is going to make the loss for UAE to the USA even worse. The home team will need to improve its game significantly against Scotland, who has emerged as the best associate side in limited-overs cricket over the last few years.
UAE vs Scotland ICC Cricket World Cup League Two is going to be played at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah on the 11th of December 2019.
A poor batting performance from the UAE in their first match saw them make just 202 against USA. It was unlikely that the total would have been enough and even though the UAE tried hard, they could not stop USA from getting over the line.
UAE has improved as an associate side in recent years but it still needs to work on its consistency. They are playing in their own conditions and have not yet learned how to maximize that advantage. Batsmen like Chirag Suri, Muhammad Usman, Vriitya Aravind need to take their time and get bigger totals.
We don’t like the batting strength of UAE too much. There are some talented batsmen in this group but they have not progressed as they should have. The ability to make centuries is still lacking and the power-hitting down the order is a big concern as well.
What the UAE batting does have in its favor is the fact that its batsmen are playing in home conditions and that the depth in the lineup is pretty good. The UAE may not have too many top-class batters but it has a number of players who can bat a bit.
Junaid Siddique and Zahoor Khan led the bowling attack in the previous match with some incisive bowling. Junaid picked up three wickets while Zahoor bowled with a lot of control and ramped up the pressure.
An improved performance in almost every facet of the game is required to get the UAE over the line against Scotland.

Scotland conceded a big total of 282 to the USA in their previous game and then failed to chase it down, falling short by 35 runs. It was the kind of performance that would raise concerns in the Scottish camp since their superiority has rarely been challenged in the Associate space recently.
Alasdair Evas and Richie Berrington gave away a lot of runs in their allotted overs which forced the introduction of less-regular bowlers into the attack. They also suffered at the hands of the US players and could not stop the scoring.
Safyaan Sharif picked up three wickets and Mark Watt got four to limit the damage but the Scotland bowling performance was much below-average overall. They will know that UAE is not the strongest batting lineup but cannot be taken for granted.
We can expect some improvement from the Scots in their bowling department.
The batting has been the strength for Scotland in recent times and that is exactly how they will hope to overcome UAE in this match. Callum MacLeod, Kyle Coetzer, Matthew Cross, Richie Berrington, and George Munsey form a fine batting lineup.
MacLeod is the obvious best player in this group but the others are all good too. Michael Jones got a fifty in the previous match, Callum MacLeod got 86, and Richie Berrington got 34 so most of the batting lineup is in good form.
Scotland will have to be careful about the slower bowlers from UAE since they are quite adept at drying up the scoring but overall, they have the capacity to come out tops in this contest.

The team that wins the toss is going to want to bat first
Read our guide on toss predictions to learn how we analyze and come up with our tips.
The weather in Sharjah is expected to be dry and relatively pleasant for cricket. The pitch has been pretty good for runs although it is on the slower side. The spinners are going to be more in the game as the match progresses so batting first may be the preferred option.
A score of around 250 should be seen as par for the surface.
We think Scotland has the better batting and the experience to be able to beat the home team in this contest
Bet on Scotland to win.
