The triangular series between UAE, Scotland, and USA finally produced its first humdinger with Scotland ending USA's winning streak with a four-wicket win. Now, United Arab Emirates remains the only team to not to win a match in the series so far. While the hosts lost both their matches against the United States of America, their only game against Scotland was washed out due to rain. They are set to face Scotland for the second time and the tournament and will be looking to end their unsuccessful tour with a win. It wouldn't be an easy task for them to defeat Scotland, who are coming off a confidence-boosting win over USA. The match between the two sides will be played at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai.
United Arab Emirates has undoubtedly been the worst team of the tournament so far. They have failed to win even one game and are also languishing at the second from the bottom spot on the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2. A win would just be a consolation for them as there would be no change in their ranking on the leauge's points table.
Their last appearance in the series happened to be their worst as well. Their bowlers did exceedingy well to restrict United States of America to a total of 213, but their batsmen failed to hunt the total down. Darius D'Silva and Ahmed Raza were the picks of their bowlers as the duo didn't allow USA to get going. They picked up key wickets of Xavier Marshall, Ian Holland, and Aaron Jones to cripple USA's batting progress.
While their bowling was perfect on a bright sunny day, their batsmen failed to follow up on the excellent work done by their bowlers. Barring Basil Hameed, who scored 38 off 56 deliveries, none of their batsmen looked comfortable during their short say at the crease. UAE were eventually dismantled completely for a total of 115 runs.
Vritiya Aravind, Muhammad Usman, Chirag Suri, CP Rizwan, Darius D'Silva, Figy John, Rohan Mustafa, Basil Hameed, Ahmed Raza, Junaid Siddique, Karthik Meiyappan.
Scotland may have started this tournament with a nightmare, but they certainly found their form back in their most-recent encounter. A win over USA in the recently concluded match moved them a bit closer to USA on the ladder. They are currently placed second with nine points in seven matches. While a win in their next match will still keep them on the second place, it will bridge their gap with USA, the gap, which they can bridge in their upcoming fixtures.
Coming into their game against USA, they were in a dire need of victory and needed to perform and their top players didn't disappoint. Unlike their last match against USA, wherein they conceded a total that was difficult to chase, they restricted USA to a reasonably low total. MRJ Watt and Hamza Tahir bowled brilliantly as they brought Scotland back into the match with each of them bowling superb spells.
Chasing a total of 246, all they needed was a couple of good partnerships to chase the total down. Their openers failed to get them off to the start they were looking for, but useful knocks from Michael Jones, Calum MacLeod and Ritchie Berrington brought them closer to the total. However, it was the partnership between Safyaan Sharif and Josh Davey that saw them home. The duo added 58 runs in under nine overs as Scotland won the match with four wickets in hand.
Matthew Cross, Kyle Coetzer, Michael Jones, Calum MacLeod, Richie Berrington, George Munsey, Dylan Budge, Josh Davey, MRJ Watt, Stuart Whittingham, Hamza Tahir.

Although this match is a dead rubber in context of the series, the winner will walk away with two important points to contribute to their World Cricket League 2 campaign. Both the sides have had their share of bad moments, but UAE have struggled to find form despite playing at home. Scotland, on the other hand, finally bounced back with a superb win over USA in their last match. Calum Macleod is in fine form and could prove to be a dangerous batsman to bowl to. Considering the reasons mentioned above and the composition of the two sides on paper, we think that the Scotand are better placed to emerge on top in this Sunday's encounter.
