While the Nepal's tour has been pretty rewarding for Oman, it hasn't been as yiedling for United States of America. Oman havs won all its matches so far whereas USA is still searching of its first win. A loss for USA to Nepal in their last match, which was followed by a win for Oman in their last match pushed Oman to the top of the table. Only two more matches are remaining in the series and both the sides would love to utilize their chances and solidify their reseptive positions at the top of the order. The upcoming match of the series is to be played between Oman and United States of America at Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground, Kirtipur on 11th February.
United States of America has played two matches in the series so far and their team has failed to live up to the form they garnered over their last few series. USA lost both of its matches by a comfortable margin and with momentum not on its side, it might find it a tad difficult against Oman in this upcoming fixture.
Against Nepal, USA's bowling did exceedingly well to keep Nepal to a total of 190. At one time, USA had Nepal on mat with Nepal's scoreline reading 49 for 5. However, excellent counter-attacking innings from Binod Bhandari and Kushal Malla allowed Nepal to put up a challenging total, which USA failed to chase down.
Chasing a total of 190, which they would have chased down on most occasions, USA's top-order crumbled under pressure. Apart from Ian Holland, who scored a 75, only two of it's batsmen managed to score in double figures as USA eventually lost the match by 35 runs.
Xavier Marshall, Aaron Jones, SR Taylor, Monank Patel, Ian Holland, Akshay Homraj, Karima Gore, Cameron Stevenson, Nisarg Patel, Rusty Theron, Saurabh Netravalkar.
Oman has, without a doubt, been the best team of the series. It is currently leading the Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 points table and is likely to stay there, if it wins the upcoming match as well. With seven wins to its name, Oman has 14 points to its name and will be looking to get two more.
Oman is coming off a splendid win in its most recent encounter, beating Nepal by eight wickets. Chasing a total of 249, Oman's batsmen did an immaculate job with Aqib Ilyas leading the chase for them. He smashed a brilliant hundred and killed the chase all by himself. He was ably supported by Zeeshan Maqsood as the partnership between Maqsood and Ilyas stayed unbeaten with Oman overhauling the required total with more than two overs to spare.
Earlier with the ball, Oman's bowlers did a great job to keep Nepal to a reasonably low score on a surface that was pretty good to bat on. Aqib Ilyas was the pick of their bowling as he returned with the impressive figures of 4 for 36 in 4 overs. Mohammad Nadeem assisted him well as Nadeem picked up 3 wickets for 44.
Jatinder Singh, Khawar Ali, Aaqib Sulehri, Zeeshan Maqsood, Mohammad Nadeem, Suraj Kumar, Sandeep Goud, Badal singh, Naseem Khushi, Kaleemullah, Bilal Khan.
Check out the Dream11 fantasy lineup for the upcoming contest between Oman and USA
There has been a stark difference between the form of two sides in the tournament so far. While Oman has been brilliant, not just in this series but in the series before as well, USA has struggled with the bat. With most of their batsmen not firing, USA appears to be a little too over-reliant on Ian Holland. Comparing the two sides on paper and their recent respective performances, Oman appears to be in better position and is, therefore, our pick to emerge on top in the upcoming encounter.
