Delhi took the long way but it is finally in the quarter-final of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021. It will now be playing against Uttar Pradesh in what should be a very keenly contested match. Delhi was in deep trouble against Uttarakhand before being rescued by its middle-order. It will know that Uttar Pradesh may not allow it the same sort of second chance in the match at all.
A well-rested Uttar Pradesh team that has won four out of the five matches it has played so far is not going to be easy to get past.
Uttar Pradesh vs Delhi Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021 is going to be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi on the 9th of March 2021.
Uttar Pradesh owes a place in the knockouts of the Vijay Hazare Trophy to a few standout performers in its lineup. Priyam Garg is the highest scorer for the team so far with 250 runs in the tournament while Akshdeep Nath has 246. Sameer Chaudhary has also made an immediate impact ever since getting his chance in the team.
The batting for Uttar Pradesh is pretty decent. Abhishek Goswami can hit the long bal at the top of the order while Akshdeep Nath can do the same down the order.
Among the bowling, Shivam Sharma is head and shoulders above the rest. He has 18 wickets to his name including six wickets in the previous match. Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, Shivam Mavi, and Aaqib Khan are all very good bowlers and make the UP bowling pretty strong as well.
The conditions in Delhi are going to be very familiar to the UP players as well.
Aaqib Khan, Shivam Sharma, Madhav Kaushik, Priyam Garg, Sameer Choudhary, Abhishek Goswami, Karan Sharma, Akshdeep Nath, Shivam Mavi, Upendra Yadav, Yash Dayal.
Dehi’s batting suffered a collapse in the previous match before being reduced by Nitish Rana and Anuj Rawat. Pradeep Sangwan also scored 58 runs down the order but that is not a performance that Delhi would have been happy about.
A lot more was expected from Himmat Singh, Manjot Kalra, and Dhruv Shorey.
The absence of Shikhar Dhawan is a big loss to Delhi but it cannot let that bring down morale.
There is enough batting power in the lineup to win the match easily for Delhi but the players have to be switched on.
Among the bowlers Pradeep Sangwan and Lalit Yadav are the two to watch out for. They have 11 and 10 wickets to their names respectively and seem to be delivering in the crunch situation regularly.
The rest of the bowling is not very good, though, and Delhi seems to be giving up big scores against it very regularly.
Dhruv Shorey, Himmat Singh, Nitish Rana, Hiten Dalal, Kshitiz Sharma, Lalit Yadav, Anuj Rawat, PJ Sangwan, Shivank Vashisht, Simarjeet Singh, K Khejroliya.
The team that wins the toss is likely to want to bat first. Even though Delhi won chasing in the previous game, the conditions for batting are the best in the morning and then get a bit more difficult in the second inning.

The conditions are very good for batting with nothing in the surface for the bowlers. The outfield is fast and the ball races to the boundaries once it hits the gaps. Only the spinners are able to exercise some level of control once the ball becomes a bit older.
A score of around 270 seems to be par for the surface and with two high-scoring teams, we can expect a lot of runs to be scored in this match.
We are backing Uttar Pradesh in this match against Delhi. They have a strong batting lineup and with Bhuvaneshwar Kumar at the helm, a lot of experience in the bowling attack. Uttar Pradesh should be able to overcome the home advantage that Delhi has.
Bet on Uttar Pradesh to win.
