WAR vs COB Match Prediction - Apr 20, 2019

We are almost midway through the ongoing CSA T20 Challenge and the things are beginning to take shape beautifully. Cape Cobras resurgence in this format after a particularly disappointing Momentum One Day was earlier seen as a fluke, but their consistency has certainly surprised everyone. They are set to take on Warriors in their upcoming encounter which is to be played at St. George's Park on Saturday, 20th April. Despite three washouts, the Warriors are in a reasonably good position and well and truly in the hunt for the playoff spot. With both teams looking good and looking to get closer to the semifinals, a scintillating contest is certainly on the cards.

WAR vs COB Team Previews

Warriors

While the Warriors will be disappointed for not being fortunate enough to get reasonable game time, they wouldn't really mind their position at the ladder. In five matches gone so far, they have three of their games washed out and have won one and lost one.

Considering how frequently their matches have been washed out, it would be really unfair to comment on the form they've been in. However, Gihahn Cloete and JJ Smuts have looked in a fantastic form whenever they've come onto bat in the tournament thus far.

They have an experienced bowling unit, especially suited to the shortest version of the game, which will certainly be tough to get away for runs even for the power-packed Cobras. Andrew Birch, Lutho Sipamla, and Magala have all been brilliant in their last few matches, regardless of the format, and will be key to their fortunes in the upcoming game.

Cape Cobras

With a doubt, Cape Cobras have surprised one and all with their clinical wins over almost all the oppositions they have faced in the tournament till now. They have won four out of their five matches and currently occupy the numero uno position in the points table with 17 points to their name.

Their last win, over Knights, brought them a step closer to the playoff spot and they are possibly only one win away from sealing the spot in the playoffs. Although Hashim Amla hasn't looked in the kind of form he was once used to, the way their other batsmen have performed has, in fact, hidden the failures at the top.

David Bedingham was brilliant against the Knights and he will be looking to carry on with his form as we get closer to the business end of the competition. Jannemann Malan already has a brilliant century to his name in the tournament gone so far and isn't looking like losing steam soon. With the likes of Vernon Philander and Rory Kleinveldt available to bat lower down the order, they bat deep and have plenty of experience with the ball. As has been the case in the competition so far, Cape Cobras will not be an easy side to get past.

WAR vs COB Betting Tips

With Cape Cobras looking in fine touch and Warriors not getting enough game time in their last few matches, picking the winner for the upcoming contest shouldn't be a rocket-science-esque decision. Having said that, Warriors have some terrific batsmen in their ranks and a bowling unit which can dismantle even the best in the business on their day. We have seen funny things happen in cricket, but we do not expect an upset on Saturday and Cape Cobras are our pick for the match.
