CSA T20 Challenge started off on a pretty expected note as all three matches gone so far ended with anticipated results. Lions, Dolphins, and Titans each registered wins in their respective matches and will be looking to assert their dominance further in the upcoming matches. On the other hand, the teams who lost do not have a lot of time to bounce back considering we do not have a lot of matches in this edition of the tournament.
Warriors will have the same challenge in the upcoming CSA T20 match, in which they face Dolphins. The match is to be played at Kingsmead Oval, Durban, on 21st February 2021. It is an important match for both sides and we expect it to go right down to the wire.
Warriors were dismal in the Momentum One Day Cup and they showed similar vulnerabilities in their first match of the T20 Challenge as they not only failed to score quickly but also lost wickets in a haste. They never looked in control throughout the match and eventually lost the match by four wickets.
Batting first on a good surface, Warriors had their hopes pinned on their openers, who both failed to do anything of substance. Gihahn Cloete scored 18 off 17 runs and JJ Smuts perished after scoring play a quick 14-run hand. Thanks to Sine Queshile, Wihan Lubbe, and Ayabulela Gqamane, the Warriors somehow managed a respectable total of 157. Queshile top-scored with a 28-ball 33.
While defending a total of 157 was certainly possible, it was always going to be tough. The Warriors started off well by picking the important wickets of Ryan Rickelton and Reeza Hendricks, but lack of sharpness in the middle-overs cost them the match. Marco Jansen, Ayabulela Gqamane, and Lizo Makhosi bowled well, but they all didn't get enough support from the other bowlers. In addition to that, it was strange to see Anrich Nortje carted for 33 in his 3.2 overs and that is something the Warriors will be concerned about.

Just as they were in the Momentum Cup, Dolphins started off on a winning note in the T20 Challenge as well. Even though they weren't as clinical, they'll take the win with both hands. They are now placed in the top half of the points table and another win here should make things easier for them going forward. Besides, their subsequent matches are not going to be as easy and they'll be itching to get two important points here against the Warriors.
Chasing a total of 145, the Dolphins never looked in control, but the total they needed to chase was so small that they were always in the game. Brief cameos by David Miller and Khaya Zondo in the middle-overs guided them to the doorstep of the win before Robbie Frylinck added quick-fire 24 to seal the deal then and there. The Dolphins came out ahead with four wickets in hand and eleven balls to spare.
Clearly, the win for Dolphins was set up by their bowlers. Keshav Maharaj and Robbie Frylinck were both terrific in their respective spells as they together picked up four wickets in their seven overs combined. While they exhibited a few gaps with the ball, filling them shouldn't be difficult for them given the experience they have. If batsmen can do well for them, the Dolphins should be a very difficult team to beat in the tournament.
Sarel Erwee, Keegan Petersen, Senuran Muthusamy, David Miller, Khaya Zondo, Mangaliso Mosehle, Robbie Frylinck, K Maharaj, P Subrayen, Ottneil Baartman, Kerwin Mungroo.
Check out the Dream11 fantasy team lineup for the 4th CSA T20 Challenge match, which is to be played between Warriors and Dolphins. Don't forget to check back the latest updated team right after the toss.
This match holds significant value for both sides, albeit for different reasons. The Dolphins will want to get to the top of the table whereas the Warriors will want to kickstart their campaign. Comparing the two sides on paper and on recent performance, the Warriors certainly lag behind. Dolphins have David Miller in prime form and he can be a dangerous man to deal with for the Warriors. For the reasons stated above, betting on a Dolphins' win should be the way to go here.
