The Warriors have moved up to second on the CSA T20 Challenge League table and will now be taking on the Dolphins. The Warriors are coming into this match after an absolute decimation of the Lions in their previous outing and will be full of confidence. The Dolphins are currently languishing on fifth on the league table with just one win to their name.
The rain has been following the Dolphins around a bit and prevented them from trying to win matches as well. Their last two matches have been rained out and thus not allowed the Dolphins to target more points.
There are just a couple of matches left before the knockout stages of the tournament and the Dolphins would definitely think they have a chance of making it. Getting a win against the in-form Warriors, though, may be a bit difficult.
A fantastic bowling performance in their previous match kept a strong Lions batting lineup under control. Andre Birch, Lutho Sipamla, and JJ Smuts kept a tight lid on the scoring while taking one wicket each.
It was impressive to see the Warriors stick to their plans even when the Lions were putting together some partnerships. Crucial wickets at regular intervals kept the target to just 145.
What followed later was an absolute batting clinic. AN opening partnership of 107 in just 10.5 overs ensured that the result of the match was never in doubt. An attacking unbeaten 72 from Matthew Breetzke and 54 from Gihahn Cloete never gave the Lions bowling any chance.
This last performance was exactly the kind that watchers of domestic cricket in South Africa have got used to from the Warriors. Their players may not have the international experience that some of the other teams do but the quality is just as good. We can definitely see at least a couple of the current Warriors players in line for a South African call-up sooner rather than later.
The Warriors would know that the Dolphins are another side that has plenty of international players. Getting past the Dolphins will require another flawless performance from the Warriors. If the bowlers can put in a similar performance to keep the Dolphins batting under check then the Warriors batting looks good enough to get the job done.
The bowling form of Andrew Birch has been fantastic and he is our player to watch out for in this contest.
Matthew Breetzke, Gihahn Cloete, JJT Smuts, Marco Marais, Sinethemba Qeshile, Onke Nyaku, Jade de Klerk, SSB Magala, Andrew Birch, Sithembile Langa, Lutho Sipamla.
Do not be fooled by the current position of the Dolphins on the league table. They have played just four out of their eight scheduled matches with the other four being rained out. Getting momentum and rhythm together in such a stop-start manner is not easy.
The Dolphins now have no option but to get their act together immediately.
Senior players like Morne van Wyk and Sarel Erwee will have to take the responsibility of leading from the front. Cody Chetty also is in good form having scored 56 the last time the Dolphins were actually able to play some cricket.
If van Wyk and Cody Chetty can lead from the front then the strong middle order of Andile Phehlukwayo, Robbie Frylinck, and Khaya Zondo can take the attack to the bowlers. We believe that the Dolphins have enough depth in their batting that they can start attacking from the very beginning and not have to worry too much.
International players like Phehlukwayo should be able to assess the situation and play accordingly.
The bowling for the Dolphins is going to be led by Robbie Frylinck, Andile Phehlukwayo, and Keshav Maharaj. The cushion of having two genuine all-rounders gives a lot of balance to the Dolphins side. We believe that this match is going to be won by the better bowling side.
Both the teams have a very strong batting lineup and should be able to get plenty of runs. If one of the sides can have a good bowling night then the advantage will rest heavily with them.
Mv Wyk, VBV Jaarsveld, C Chetty, Khaya Zondo, Andile Phehlukwayo, Senuran Muthusamy, Sibonelo Makhanya, Robbie Frylinck, K Maharaj, P Subrayen, D Dupavillon.
The team winning the toss is likely to want tobat second with the threat of rain around.

The CSA T20 Challenge match between the Warriors and the Dolphins is going to be played at St.George’s Park, Port Elizabeth. The weather prediction is calling for some rain in the area once again. Hopefully, we can get lucky and actually have some cricket to watch after a long time.
This is one set of Dolphins that are probably sick of being surrounded by water!
The pitch at Port Elizabeth is good for batting and so we can expect some fireworks from two strong batting sides.
We like the look of the Dolphins heading into this match. They have nothing to lose and have plenty of players in their side that are used to playing under the pressure of must-win matches. The Warriors are in good for and are not going to be easy to beat but we think the Dolphins are the team to back here.
Bet on the Dolphins to win.
