WFW vs NOSW Match Prediction - Aug 26, 2022

Another day and another easy win for Southern Brave Women in the Women's edition of The Hundred Competition 2022. While Southern Brave Women's surge has been predictable, the competition has been intense in the middle-part of the points table.

Contrary to Southern Brave Women, Welsh Fire Women have been dismal and will be taking the field again in a bid to keep their survival hopes alive. They are set to lock horns with Northern Superchargers Women, who too aren't in the best of positions either. The match between the two sides is to be played on 26th August 2022 at the Sophia Gardens, Cardiff.

WFW vs NOSW Team Previews

Welsh Fire Women

Welsh Fire Women have been terrible since the very beginning of the tournament and are pretty much left with an outside chance, if at all, to qualify for the next round. Not only will they have to win all of their remaining matches, they would need to win those big. Given the way things have panned out for them up until now, it is certainly not going to be easy.

As it currently stands on the points table, they are placed at the rock-bottom with zero wins to their name. They also have a pretty poor net run-rate of -0.842, which they will need to improve should things get tight with respect to qualification.

Form-wise, their campaign has gone from bad to worse. Also, with Deandra Dottin leaving to play for The 6IXTY, their batting has certainly taken a hit. They now rely heavily on skipper Tammy Beaumont to take the lead with the bat, but that hasn't happened thus far. They have been poor and will really need to play out of their skins to do something substantial here. If they can do that here, Northern Superchargers Women will certainly be in for a surprise.

Northern Superchargers Women

With two wins from four matches, Northern Superchargers Women have had a decent tournament but would need to be a lot more consistent if they want to announce their candidature for the playoffs. A win here should put them in a decent position and that is exactly what they will be after.

On the points table at the moment, they are placed at the fifth spot with four points to their name. While they are fine with the number of points they have, their net run-rate, which is -0.309, would be a matter of concern if it comes to that. They would be looking to improve that as well and there couldn't be a better chance to do that than this upcoming game against a depleted Welsh Fire side.

The Superchargers Women have won on alternate basis up until now but they would also know that both of their losses have come against the teams currently placed higher than them. They were pretty good in their most recent outing, against Manchester Originals Women, as they chased down a tall total of 160 with considerable ease. Scoring 90, Laura Wolvaardt was fantastic with a bat and was ably supported by Alyssa Healy and Hollie Armitage.

On the batting front, the Superchargers Women look pretty balanced but would need someone to step-up with the ball as well. If they are able to get that sorted here in this match, Northern Superchargers Women should find themselves in a pretty good position at the end of the day.

WFW vs NOSW Betting Tips

We are slowly progressing towards the business end of the tournament and each match from here can prove to be a substantial step in a bid to get a playoff spot. Welsh Fire Women would be out of the tournament if they fail to win this match and are likely to throw it their all here. Northern Superchargers Women have just started to move and will not want to lose the momentum. Comparing the two sides on form, Northern Superchargers Women clearly look ahead. On the basis of on-paper team lineup too, the Superchargers Women trump the Welsh Fire Women. Given those factors, we believe that Superchargers Women have enough going for them to get the better of Welsh Fire Women in this match. Bet on Northern Superchargers Women to win.
