West Indies started the tri-series in Ireland with a match against the hosts and dominated that from the first ball. The West Indies showed just why they are being talked about as a dark horse when it comes to the ICC World Cup 2019.
Every match played around the world is going to be played in the shadow of the cricket world cup. This series is no different and this is why the matches between West Indies and Bangladesh are going to be very closely watched.
No disrespect to Ireland, but this contest is the main event after the warm-up.
Bangladesh has brought its full strength side to Ireland, unlike the West Indies which is missing some players still playing the IPL. There has also been some talk about Bangladesh being wanting to be taken seriously at cricket World Cup 2019.
This is their chance to prove it.
Chris Gayle, Shimron Hetmyer, and Andre Russell are the three major names that are missing from the West Indies squad right now and every single player knows that they are going to walk into the playing eleven as soon as they join the squad.
This is why it is important for every player to score runs and make it difficult for them to be the ones being dropped.
John Campbell and Shai Hope did exactly that in the previous match. They scored 179 and 170 respectively during a World Record opening stand that saw the pair rack up 365 before being separated. West Indies eventually ended up scoring 385 and there was no way that Ireland was even going to come close.
Since the opening pair batted for 47 overs, the other batsmen did not have anything to do.
We don’t think the batting is going to have it so easy against Bangladesh. There are a number of dangerous bowlers like Mustafizur Rahman, Abu Jayed, Rubel Hossain, and Mashrafe Mortaza in the side.
Shai Hope, John Cambell, Darren Bravo, Roston Chase, Jonathan Carter, Sunil Ambris and Jason Holder form a good batting lineup. There are some holes in it for sure but as a whole, there is enough depth to contemplate big scores in most innings.
The pressure is going to be on Roston Chase, Jonathan Carter, and Sunil Ambris to make an impact if they get a chance. This could prevent them from playing their natural game and actually make it more difficult for them to score runs.
The West Indies batting is not very dependable and playing fifty over cricket is not something that most of the players in this team excel at.
The bowling for the West Indies is excellent and we believe will be a bigger threat t the Bangladesh batting. Shannon Gabriel, Kemar Roach, Jason Holder, Sheldon Cottrel, and Ashley Nurse are a good group of bowlers.
Nurse is not the highest quality spinner but can be pretty effective at locking one end up. Genuine pace has not been something that Bangladesh has been comfortable with in the past so we expect to see the West Indians get in plenty of short balls to unsettle their opponent.
Shane Dowrich, Shai Hope, Darren Bravo, Roston Chase, Jonathan Carter, SW Ambris, Ashley Nurse, Jason Holder, Kemar Roach, Sheldon Cottrell, Shannon Gabriel.
This is an important series for Bangladesh. They have been a markedly improved ODI team in the last few years but most of their good results have come in sub-continental conditions. Winning consistently in the ICC World Cup 2019 is going to require Bangladesh moving away from its comfort zone and playing some exciting cricket.
Bangladesh has put together a good squad for this important summer. Tamim Iqbal is going to be leading the batting with some talented and experienced batsmen to call upon as well.
Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, and Mahmudullah form the spine of the batting lineup. However, youngsters like Sabbir Rahman and Liton Das will need to step up as well. It cannot be a case of just banking on the senior players to carry them through.
We have seen in the past that Bangladesh does not deal with pressure situations too well. If they can keep doing the basics well and getting a decent total on the board then they definitely have a chance of winning the tournament.
The fast bowling stocks of Bangladesh are better served at this point in time than perhaps ever in their history. Tasking Ahmed and Nayeem Hasan may have to wait for further matches in the series to get an opportunity.
The spin options are also quite thanks to the presence of Shakib AL Hasan and Mehidy Hasa. More importantly, this bowling attack has been playing together for a long time now and are well aware of their roles.
The big risk for this series is their lack of knowledge about the playing conditions. Bangladesh batsmen can take some time getting used to the extra pace and bounce which can cause losses.
Tamim Iqbal, Soumya Sarkar, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mohammad Mithun, Mahmudullah, Sabbir Rahman, Mohammad Saifuddin, Mashrafe Mortaza, Mehidy Hasan, Mustafizur Rahman.
The team winning the toss is expected to want to bowl first. There is some rain around and that could mean some DLS calculations coming into play. A little bit of seam movement is also expected in the first inning.

West Indies vs Bangladesh ODI Ireland Tri-series is going to be played at the Clontarf Cricket Club Dublin. Intermittent rain is expected throughout the day and we could see some interruptions in the match being played.
The pitch at the venue is a drop-in and expected to be flat. The weather conditions could be favorable to get some seam movement especially at the start of the match. After that initial period, though, there are plenty of runs to be had.
Dream 11 team for West Indies vs Bangladesh has been made keeping in mind the good batting conditions we got to witness in the opening match of the tri-series.
Wicketkeeper: Shai Hope has just scored a magnificent 170 in the previous game. There is no way that he can be left out from this lineup. Mushfiqur Rahim has improved as a batsman but we don't really know how well he is going to be able to adapt to the conditions.
Batsmen: We have picked Darren Bravo, John Campbell, Mahmudullah, Tamim Iqbal, and Sabbir Rahman in our side for this match. Darren Bravo batted at number three in the previous match and we hope he will continue to do that. Bravi is possibly the best 50 over format player in this team and could score a big one. He is good against spin. Jon Campbell is a very good value at just 8.0 Dream 11 points and is in excellent form as well. Tamim Iqbal, Mahmudullah are the two experienced players in the Bangladesh side that we think can do well in this match and the series. Picking Sabbir Rahman is always a risk but it could pay off big time.
All-rounders: Shakib Al Hasan is a world-class player. He has an excellent record against the West Indies and has been playing cricket in the IPL too. He and Jason Holder are a must-have for any Dream 11 team because of their ability to contribute in all aspects of the game.
Bowlers: Shannon Gabriel, Kemar Roach, and Abu Jayed are the three players we have picked from this category. All three are genuine wicket takers and bowl with decent pace. Gabriel can be expensive but could run through the Bangladesh side if he is in good form.
Captain and Vice-Captain: We have picked Darren Bravo and Tamim Iqbal as our captain and vice-captain for this match respectively.

We think that Bangladesh and the West Indies are pretty well matched as sides. The absence of some West-Indian stars helps even the scales a lot. For this match, we think it is smart to back the West Indies since they are in good form and have more experience of the conditions.
