Ireland pulled off an upset in the previous match and squared the series 1-1. That was a commendable result because Ireland was missing quite a few of its players due to COVID as well. The West Indian top order continued to struggle and for once, its middle + lower order could not do enough to bail it out.
Weather played spoilsport in a match that could have gone down to the wire and hopefully that will not be the case in the decider. All the best cricket betting sites have given the tag of favorites to the West Indies once more. In fact, the odds are so short that they really do not cover the risk that you will be taking. Still, there are other betting opportunities to explore.
Match prediction and cricket betting tips for West Indies vs Ireland 3rd ODI 2022. The match is going to be played at Sabina Park, Kingston, Jamaica on the 16th of January 2022.
West Indies would have been very disappointed with its batting performance in this series. None of the top-order batsmen have shown the fight needed on some wickets that have done a bit first up. Shamarh Brooks and Kieron Pollard bailed them out in the first match while Romario Shepherd and Odean Smith almost did the same in the second ODI.
However, there is one thing that is clear. West Indies has more six-hitting power in its lineup and the batting depth that it has is just amazing. Even with none of the top-order batsmen performing, West Indies managed to hit six sixes to Ireland's four, and got to a fighting total thanks to performances from its number nine and ten!
Betting on the West Indies to hit the Most Sixes in the match seems to be an absolute no-brainer. It also offers better odds than just betting on the win.
West Indies would have liked to be a bit more disciplined with the ball but there were a few creditable performances. Odean Smith was economical in the four overs he bowled, Akeal Hossain started well in the powerplay, and Romario Shepherd seems to be the go-to person at the death.
We believe that West Indies is a stronger ODI team than Ireland, however, we don't think it is as strong as the odds being offered make it seem to be. This is where you need to be careful and keep hedging your bets through in-play betting.

Ireland can be proud of its performance in the previous match. It was without Andrew Balbirnie, arguably its best ODI batsman, and still managed to chase down a tricky total against the West Indies. William Porterfield and Paul Stirling gave Ireland a strong start and ensured that the team did not fall behind the asking rate at any time. Harry Tector and Andy McBrine played with a lot of caution and were sensible enough to keep the scoreboard ticking without taking any unnecessary risks.
Ireland has improved quite a bit as a limited-overs team and the emergence of a few youngsters has a lot to do with it.
Josh Little, Craig Young, and Andy McBrine have bowled very well in the series to give Ireland a chance in both the games that have been played. Mark Adair is also an excellent bowler on his day. While the team may be lacking a big-hitters or some superstars in their lineup like the West Indies, it does seem to have a collection of sensible and talented cricketers that are punching above their weight at the moment.

The team that wins the toss is going to want to field first. Kieron Pollard mentioned how big of an advantage that was in the second match and we think the same is going to be the case in the third one as well.

The weather forecast gets much better over the next few days and so we should hopefully have a full, uninterrupted game to enjoy. The pitch has been slow but flat. There is some swing on offer with the new ball but it settles down to be a good batting surface. The outfield is fast and the dimensions of the ground are not very big.
We think a score of around 260-280 is definitely on the cards batting first if the entire 50 overs are played.
We are going to be betting on the West Indies to win this match. The odds may not be that attractive but we do think they have the superior lineup. Their superior six-hitting abilities can make the difference and having a number of all-rounders available for selection is a huge advantage as well.
