As was expected, the third and final ODI between West Indies women and Australian women turn out to end on similar terms as the first two matches. Australia raced to a dominating win, and the only difference between their third win and the earlier two wins was that they batted second here. With ODI series already over and things moving to the shortest format game, the home team will be a bit relieved as they'll be playing in the format they love the most. The two teams will not meet in the first T20I of the three-match series to be played at Barbados.
West Indies' poor performance with both bat and ball continued in the third and final ODI of the series as they were bundled out for a total of just 180-runs on the board. While there was some improvement over their previous two outings, it was marginal.
Tight bowling from Australian quick bowlers ensured that West Indies were always on the back-foot. No intent from their batsmen ensured that the same was stretched. Barring Britney Cooper and Kyshona Knight, none of their top-order batsmen looked settled as Windies women kept losing wicket at regular intervals.
The only resistant we saw was put up by the seventh wicket as Chinelle Henry and Sheneta Grimmond played useful knocks of 39 and 34 respectively. On the bowling front, their bowlers looked clueless, just like the first two matches as Australia chased down the total with considerable ease.
Britney Cooper, Reniece Boyce, Stafanie Taylor, Kyshona Knight, Stacy-Ann King, Natasha McLean, Sheneta Grimmond, Afy Fletcher, Shabika Gajnabi, Chinelle Henry, Shamilia Connell.
Saying that Australia have been flawless in the series would be an understatement. Megan Schutt scripted history by picking up an ODI hat-trick as she single-handedly demolished West Indies' batting lineup. With this win, Australia moved past England in the Championship table and will be looking to stay ahead when they take part in their next series.
In the shortest format of the game as well, there has been no match for the Aussies in recent times. They have been brilliant in all departments of the game with the likes of Alyssa Healy and Elysse Perry scoring heaps of runs, as was the case in the recently concluded ODI series as well.
On paper, Australia have a brilliant team that is rich in experience as well as talent. They have an explosive batting lineup, which can be dangerous to deal with even on a dicey batting surface. Coupled with a terrific bowling attack which can dismantle even the best in the business on their day, Australia have a well-balanced team, which will not be easy to get past in the upcoming fixture.
Alyssa Healy, Beth Mooney, Meg Lanning, Ellyse Perry, Rachael Haynes, Ashleigh Gardner, Erin Burns, Jess Jonassen, Delissa Kimmince, Georgia Wareham, Megan Schutt.

There was a stark difference between the performances of the two sides in the ODI series, and while Australia still go in as favorites in the shortest format of the game, we are likely to see an improved performance from the home team. West Indies have a couple of match-winners available at their disposal, and it would take a miraculous effort from them to get past Australians, who have match-winners available throughout the lineup. Comparing the two teams on form and paper, the Australians look better placed and are therefore our pick for this upcoming fixture.
