West Indies Women

West Indies Women had a rough start to the season as they faced England Women and India Women for their two opening matches of the season. They have had a tough time against both these teams during the last couple of years and continued to struggle here too as they lost both those games.

However, the team would like to focus on the positives as they move ahead in the tournament. Captain Hayley Matthews will once again play an important role in this match thanks to her all-round abilities. Veteran opener Stafanie Taylor played a solid inning of 42 runs against India in the last match and together with Matthews, will be looking to give a good start to the team.

Stafanie had to be stretchered off the field in the last match due to an injury but hopefully will recover in time for this game. Shemaine Campbelle has been solid at the number-3 slot and is the top scorer for her team. West Indies Women will depend on the likes of Chedean Nation and Chinelle Henry to give them a good finish toward the end of the innings.

Karishma Ramharack bowled a superb spell in the game against India and will be looking to do the same here too. She will depend on Matthews and Afy Fletcher to give her good support from the other end. The pace attack looks a bit weak as Shamilia Connell and Shabika Gajnabi have been taken for a lot of runs. 

Ireland Women

Ireland Women are currently at the bottom of the points table due to a poor NRR compared to that of the West Indies Women.

The batting for the Ireland Women has been pretty underwhelming in the 2 matches that they have played so far and would like to improve on that going ahead. Orla Prendergast and Gabby Lewis are the two best batters in the squad and the team will be looking up to them to play a big inning at the top. Amy Hunter and Laura Delany have failed to fire so far, making things difficult for the team.

Eimear Richardson played a decent inning of 28 runs from 17 deliveries in the previous match and will be hoping to contribute here too. The team has tried as many as 7 different bowlers so far in both games but has failed to rein in the opposition.

Cara Murray, who picked up 3 wickets in the game against England was quite expensive in the last match while the likes of Jane Maguire and Leah Paul too have struggled here. Arlene Kelly has been the only consistent bowler of the lot, picking up wickets in both games.
