Women's World T20 started off on a terrific not with India defeating title favorites Australia in a low-scoring encounter. India's win not only has left the group wide open, but would also have inspired the lesser-known teams to cause an upset in their respective matches. Thailand Women, who are playing a World Cup for the first time, will be hoping to do the same in their match, which they are all to set to play against West Indies Women. The two teams will lock horns on 22nd February at ABC Cricket Ground, Perth. Even though West Indies Women haven't had best of times recently, they will be a threat to deal with, at least for Thailand Women in the first match of the tournament.
Just like their men's counterpart, West Indies Women team has historically done well in the shortest version of the game and will be fancying their chances this time around as well. They won the title in 2016 and almost did it again in 2018 when they stormed to the semifinal of the tournament. However, they haven't had anything substantial ever since.
Coming into the World Cup 2020, they have a win-loss ratio of 0.4, which is better only than Sri Lanka. Evidently, they haven't been in prime for, but will be looking to turn it around with a good run in this tournament.
On paper, West Indies have a good side, but they appear to be a bit too over-reliant on their star all-rounders. The absence of Deandra Dottin, one of their most reliable players, was clearly felt as West Indies produced a string of poor performances in her abbsence. The likes of Dottin, Shakera Selman, Shamilla Connell, and Stephanie Taylor will have a massive role to play for Windies to do well in this tournament.

Cricket never ceases to produce heart-warming moments be it in Women's Cricket or Men's Cricket. The pictures of jam-packed ground in Nepal when their team played the first home ODI went viral not a long ago could bring a smile on anyone's face. The story of rise of Women's Cricket is not too different either.
Unlike many other emerging nations, Cricket Thailand has ensured that their players have a good domestic structure for their players to thrive and represent their country and with Thailand playing their first World Cup ever, their efforts seem to be producing the results.
While Thailand Women do not have much experience of playing against the top sides, they will want to enjoy their game and then think about the result. They are fully capable to defeat the lower-seeded International sides, but it would not be an easy task. On paper, they are one of the weakest team on paper, but as we have seem in Cricket, upsets can happen and if they are able to start well against West Indies, they might well have a chance to turn the game their way.
Nattakan Chantam, Nattaya Boochatham, Nannapat Khoncharoenkai, Naruemol Chaiwai, Chanida Sutthiruang, Sornnarin Tippoch, Wongpaka Liengprasert, Onnicha Kamchomphu, Ratanaporn Padunglerd, Suleeporn Laomi, Soraya Lateh.
There is a stark difference between the two sides on all accounts. While West Indies are pretty experienced and have historically done pretty well in the tournament, Thailand Women are here to learn and enjoy. On paper, West Indies are a better team, but they would not want to take Thailand lightly. Although the reward of betting on West Indies is pretty low, it could be considered a safe bet and would be the way to go in this upcoming match of ICC Women's World T20.
