The Warriors and the Titans have both played two matches each in the Momentum ODI Cup so far. While the Warriors have won one match and lost the other, the Titans have lost both the matches they have played so far this season.
The Titans can consider themselves a bit unlucky to have lost the previous match but that is in the past. Three losses in a row can be very difficult to recover from in a short tournament like the Momentum Cup.
The Warriors are coming into this match on the back of a win and will have a little bit more confidence on their side.
Warriors vs Titans Momentum ODI Cup 2020 is going to be played at St.George’s Park, Port Elizabeth on the 9th of February 2020.
A superb 90 not out from skipper Yaseen Vallie was the reason why the Warriors were able to get to 220 in their match against the Knights. It was not a convincing batting performance as the Warriors failed to bat out their 50 overs and were eventually bowled out in the 42nd over.
Luckily for them, the Knights batted even worse and ended up losing the match.
The Warriors have some decent batsmen in their lineups like Matthew Breetzke, Gihahn Cloete, Rudi Second, and Yaseen Vallie. These are not the biggest names in South African domestic cricket but they include some proven performers that can be counted on to contribute reliably.
This is why we think that the batting performance by the Warriors in the previous two matches has been a shift away from what we can reasonably expect from moving forward.
Stephan Tait, Dyllan Matthews, and Sisanda Magala were the best bowlers for the Warriors in the previous match. They attacked the Knights and picked up wickets at regular intervals. If anything, Andrew Birch and Rudi Second were a bit unlucky to not have more wickets to their name as well.
A performance like the one that the Warriors showed with the ball is going to lift the spirits of the entire team.

A fantastic batting performance from the Titans did not result in a victory against the Dolphins. Runs for every single one of their batsmen helped the Titans post 275 for four in 39 overs. This total was then adjusted upward with the help of DLS to give a stiff target to the Dolphins.
Unfortunately, the Titans were unable to defend that total in a poor display of bowling.
Henry Davids, Tony de Zorzi, Grant Thomson, Dean Elgar, and Heinrich Klaasen all played very well. Farhaan Behardien scored just 11 not out but also faced only four deliveries. It is baffling to see Behardien play so low down the order that he barely even has an impact on the game.
The Titans batting has been quite good in both the matches although that has not resulted in a win yet.
The problem for the Titans has been its bowling. Hardus Viljoen is the leader of the attack and has been quite expensive without picking up the desired number of wickets. Imran Manack, Dayyaan Galiem, and Tshepo Moreki were the other bowlers used in the previous match.
This is not a bowling unit that is going to trouble too many teams.
The Titans must continue to bat well because that is the only way we see them winning matches. Having a bi score to defend will also help make their bowling attack better.

The team that wins the toss is going to want to bat first.

There is some rain expected in Port Elizabeth on match day but nothing that is going to wash away the entire match. The weather is expected to remain dry and sunny for the most part so we should hopefully be able to enjoy a full match.
The pitch at St. George’s Park offers some help to the bowlers on most occasions. The fast bowlers can expect a bit of help early on with the new ball after which the pitch eases out to become good for batting.

We don’t think the Titans are going to continue losing close matches. They have been batting well and it is just a matter of time before their bowlers step up to the plate as well. The Warriors don’t have a very good batting lineup themselves and their bowling unit is pretty average as well.
Bet on the Titans to win.
