WRW vs NOT Match Prediction - Aug 09, 2019

Even though Birmingham Bears and Nottinghamshire Outlaws have a fair amount of daylight between their standings at the points table, there aren't too far away. The favorable result for one side could turn the table around or the difference could grow big if the things do not go according to the plan for Birmingham Bears. Nottinghamshire Outlaws are set to visit Edgbaston Cricket Ground to meet Birmingham Bears in their upcoming contest which is being played on Friday, 9th August. There's a difference of just one point between the two sides and both the sides will be looking to increase their tally and get higher up in the points table with a win in this match.

WRW vs NOT Team Previews

Birmingham Bears

The Bears had a decent start to the tournament, but some bad matches in the middle part of the tournament cost them a couple of points, leaving them floating in a difficult situation. They are currently at the sixth position at the ladder with six points to their name with a negative net run-rate of 0.483.

A win here in their home game will push them to the third spot at the ladder, displacing Notts, making them a strong candidate to get to the quarter-finals. Their form leading up to this game hasn't been impressive, to say the least. With a tie in between, against Yorkshire, they've been unable to register a win in their last four matches.

In their most recent encounter, which was against Leicestershire Foxes, they succumbed to the pressure of chasing as they got dismissed for just 134 without even playing out their twenty overs. The totals scored by them in their last four matches read as 134, 177, 113, and 111, speaking volumes about the dip their batting form has experienced, of late.

Nottinghamshire

While Nottinghamshire aren't too ahead of the Bears as far as the number of points are concerned, the difference being just one point, they are two places ahead of them at the ladder. Sitting comfortably at the third spot, they just need a couple of more wins in their remaining fixtures to qualify for the playoffs, and they'll be looking to register one of those in their upcoming fixture against Warwickshire.

They had a poor start to the tournament as they lost their opening encounter to Worcestershire, but have done pretty well since then. They registered three wins in their remaining six fixtures, which is a good ratio to have in this tournament.

They are coming off a heart-breaking defeat in their previous match where they failed to close the game despite being in a good position with one over to go. Bowling first on a helpful wicket, their bowlers did pretty well to restrict Lancashire Lightning, but lack of application from their batsmen left them with too much to do in the final two overs. Dan Christian stuck three vital blows in the second last over, bringing down the equation to 12 required off 6, but a superb last over from James Faulkner left them heart-broken.

All in all, Nottinghamshire Outlaws have picked themselves up beautifully in their last few matches, and they certainly have a pretty well-balanced unit, at least on paper. They have an excellent amalgamation of youth and experience, and if they can handle the crunch situations better against Warwickshire, the Bears will have their work cut out.

WRW vs NOT Betting Tips

It's an important match for both the side. While Warwickshire will want to get into the top-four with a win here, Nottinghamshire would want to take every opportunity to deny him just that as a win for the Outlaws will take them to a considerably good position as far as a qualification to the playoffs is concerned. Comparing the two teams on recent performances and on-paper, Nottinghamshire appear to be ahead, albeit slight, and are, therefore, out pick to win the upcoming fixture at Birmingham.
