WRW vs YOR Match Prediction - Aug 30, 2019

All the four places up for grabs in the North Group for the T20 Blast 2019 playoffs have been locked up. The two teams playing this match, Birmingham Bears and Yorkshire are not going to be participating in the T20 Blast 2019 playoffs this season and so there is not too much at stake in this match.

Currently, Yorkshire is ahead of Birmingham Bears on the league table even though it has won one less match due to the number of rained out matches it has had to endure.

The winning team in this match will climb to fifth on the league table, a respectable place to finish at in what could be the last even T20 Blast season.

Birmingham Bears vs Yorkshire T20 Blast 2019 is going to be played at Edgbaston, Birmingham on the 30th of August 2019.

WRW vs YOR Team Previews

Birmingham Bears

Ed Pollock powered the Birmingham Bears with 77 off just 45 balls in the previous match. It was a powerful performance from a player that has underperformed his potential this season. A target of 152 was never going to be enough for the Birmingham Bears once Ed Pollock had got going.

The Bears will be hoping for some more fireworks from Ed Pollock, Dominic Sibley, and Sam Hain in this match. Yorkshire has a decent bowling attack that could make it tough for Birmingham to score as freely as they did in their previous match against Durham.

Chris Green and Jeetan Patel will lead a spin heavy Birmingham Bears bowling unit to try and stop Yorkshire from getting away. Alex Thomson, James Wainman, and Will Rhodes are the other players that could be asked to roll their arms over.

It was refreshing to see the Birmingham Bears play freely in their previous match and they will hopefully do the same in this match as well.

Birmingham Bears Playing 11

Dominic Sibley, Ed Pollock, Sam Hain, Matthew Lamb, Will Rhodes, Christopher Green, Alex Thomson, Alex Mellor, Jeetan Patel, James Wainman, George Garrett.

Yorkshire

Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Adam Lyth scored fifties in their previous match against Northamptonshire to help lead the side to a total of 187. That is a big total in any contest and was achieved due to some smart cameos down the batting order as well.

Harry Brooks scored 38 off just 16 balls while Jack Leaning got 18 off nine.

One player that did not score runs was David Willey who once again batted at number three. Yorkshire has run out of ideas and is just repeating its mistakes time and again. That it did not have to suffer a loss was down the performance of its regular batsmen and not pinch hitters. Unfortunately, the coach and the captain cannot seem to grasp that at all!

Willey did end up taking four wickets doing the job he is supposed to be doing and was helped by Tim Bresnan who picked up two wickets while being very economical as well. Yorkshire’s bowling attack thrived when it had a big score to protect and that must be the game plan for this match as well.

The individual quality of some of the players in the Yorkshire side is better than anything that the Birmingham Bears have but al of them have not been able to come together and perform as a team too often in this season.

Yorkshire Playing 11

Adam Lyth, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, David Willey, Harry Brook, Jonathan Tattersall, Jack Leaning, Will Fraine, TT Bresnan, MW Pillans, K Maharaj, Jack Shutt.

Pitch and Conditions

Birmingham Bears vs Yorkshire T20 Blast 2019 is going to be played at Edgbaston, Birmingham on the 30th of August 2019. The weather forecast for Yorkshire is quite nice and we think there should be no trouble in playing out an uninterrupted match.

The pitch at Birmingham offers a little help to the fast bowlers first up but in general, the surfaces have been very flat, as you would expect for a T20 competition.

WRW vs YOR Betting Tips

We think the Yorkshire should be able to win this match against the Birmingham Bears. Both teams are quite evenly matched but the recent form of Yorkshire is better. Adam Lyth is playing the best he has all season and that could tile things in favor of the visitors here. The surface could also help the Yorkshire fast bowlers pick up some early wickets.

Bet on Yorkshire to win.
