Western Storm
they then chased down in 17 overs. It was a very strong overall showing by Western Storm and it would have attracted the attention of all of its rivals as well.
Now, Western Storm has the opportunity to win another match against a struggling Lancashire Thunder.
The bowling is going to be led by Freya Davies, Claire Nicholas, Deepti Sharma, and Heather Knight. This is a pretty decent line-up with the likes of Heather Knight and Alex Griffiths to chip in.
It is the batting that is going to be the real strength for Western Storm in this tournament. They have Rachel Priest and Smriti Mandhana to open the batting followed by Heather Knight and Fran Wilson. Rachel Priest and Smriti Mandhana are both very aggressive players and have the ability to clear the boundaries with ease.
Western Storm is going to be aware of the fact that Lancashire’s bowling has not fired and will be looking to capitalize on that.

Rachel Priest, Smriti Mandhana, Heather Knight, Fran Wilson, Sophie Luff, Deepti Sharma, Naomi Dattani, Anya Shrubsole, Alex Griffiths, Freya Davies, Claire Nicholas.
Lancashire Women
Lancashire Lightning suffered its second defeat in a row due to some bad batting and not have enough runs on the board for the bowlers to be able to defend. Harmanpreet Kaur made 58 not out but the next best score was 12 and so the team could manage only a total of 120.
Sune Luus and Tahlia McGrath were expected to contribute more to the cause but that has not happened so far. Lancashire has a world-class batter in Harmanpreet Kaur but the others need to step up and provide her the support she needs.
Its always going to be difficult to defend 120 but Sophie Eccelstone and Kate Cross would have expected to have had a bit more impact on the game. NO bowler was able to stop the flow of runs and the wickets also came far too late to matter.
There is a decent core of bowlers in the Lancashire side but they are all struggling for form at the moment.
Lancashire Women Playing 11
Georgie Boyce, Sune Luus, Tahlia McGrath, Harmanpreet Kaur, Sophia Dunkley Brown, Emma Lamb, Sophie Ecclestone, Eleanor Threlkeld, Eve Jones, Kate Cross, Alex Hartley.
