Yorkshire and Birmingham did not have campaigns to remember in 2020 as both of them missed out on qualifying from the group stage. The Vitality T20 Blast 2021 is another chance for the teams to change their approach and try to live up to their expectations.
One thing is for certain that both teams have a lot of genuine quality in their ranks and are not going to be easy to beat for any side.
Some of the biggest players of English white-ball cricket could be on show for this match.
Match Prediction and betting tips for Yorkshire vs Birmingham Vitality Blast 2021. The match is going to be played at Headingley, Leeds on the 10th of June 2021.
Yorkshire was struck by injuries, unavailability of players, and a COVID-19 outbreak in the previous season of the T20 Blast and was never able to fully get its campaign going. This time, the unexpected availability of Jonny Bairstow and Dawid Malan for the first few matches should help it give a boost for sure.
The batting is very strong for Yorkshire. Jonny Bairstow, Adam Lyth, Dawid Malan, and Tom Kohler-Cadmore are all terrific T20 batsmen. We would recommend betting on the ‘Over’ if you get a chance to be able to bet on the total number of fours for Yorkshire.
The players are all terrific boundary-hitters and are not going to die wondering when they come in to bat.
Lockie Ferguson is an excellent buy and is one of the most underrated T20 bowlers in the world. His pace and death bowling ability are certainly worth having. We expect him to be in the wickets in most matches and bettors would do well to explore betting markets on Ferguson’s performance.
Adil Rashid, Duanne Olivier, and David Willey should help round out a very strong T20 bowling attack.
Adam Lyth, Jonny Bairstow, Dawid Malan, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Harry Brook, Will Fraine, Jordan Thompson, David Willey, AU Rashid, Matthew Waite, Lockie Ferguson.
The Birmingham team is a decent one that has always managed to be competitive but we think they lack the finished look that Yorkshire has right now. Its batting is a big concern going into the opening match and we just can’t see the power or explosiveness needed to win consistently.
Sam Hain, Adam Hose, and Michael Burgess are the leading batsmen of the team. Will Rhodes and Adam Yates are decent batsmen too but none of these batsmen is a T20 gun. The team is going to struggle to set and chase down the really big scores that you see consistently in the T20 Blast.
However, the bowling lineup for Birmingham is very strong indeed. Olly Stone is not going to be available for this match and he is a big loss but Tim Bresnan, Harry Brooks, Danny Briggs, and Carlos Brathwaite form quite an effective T20 lineup.
The form of Carlos Brathwaite with the bat is going to be quite interesting to watch. He has never been able to reach the heights that he promised after his famous T20 World Cup heroics but there is no doubt he has the ability to hit a long ball.
Birmingham is an average team that will win a few matches because of its bowling or if one of its batsmen has a great match. In most cases, though, its weaknesses are clear for everyone to see.
Ed Pollock, Will Rhodes, Sam Hain, Adam Hose, Michael Burgess, Dan Mousley, Carlos Brathwaite, Tim Bresnan, Craig Miles, Danny Briggs, Jake Lintott.
The team that wins the toss is going to want to field first. Headingley is a very high-scoring venue in the T20 Blast and defending a total can be quite tricky. The team batting second should be seen as having a big advantage.

The weather forecast for this match is quite good and we don’t expect the weather to play a role. As far as the pitch goes, it is normally full of runs and a high-scoring match is the norm here. The bowlers have very little to work with and stopping the boundaries is quite difficult.
Something around 180 should be seen as the minimum that teams batting first aim for.
We are going to back the home team, Yorkshire to win this match. They have a superior batting lineup and are bolstered by the availability of two of its best batsmen that are usually away playing for England (or other leagues). Both teams have a strong bowling attack but we think Yorkshire’s batting will give it the edge.
Bet on Yorkshire to win.
