Tournament: Bangladesh tour of Zimbabwe, 2022.
Date: August 10, 2022
Format: One Day
Venue: Harare Sports Club, Harare, Zimbabwe.
Zimbabwe has succeeded in beating Bangladesh twice in a row in the one-day international format of the game. This is a big achievement for any cricketing team in the world. However, for Zimbabwe, this achievement is nothing short of a cause for celebration. This is their biggest win in the last five years of international cricket if not more. Zimbabwe mainly owes this win to Sikandar Raza who has been ins terrific form of late. It was yet another dominating performance by the Zimbabwean cricket team in the second ODI. Hosts were in prime form with the bat and their bowling department was also able to handle the pressure. Although they did allow the Bangladeshis to put on more than 300 runs on the board on both these occasions. The hosts will be keen to improve their bowling performance in the 3rd and final ODI between these two nations.
Sikandar Raza scored hundreds in both these matches and was instrumental in the success of the team. Zimbabwe is likely to go into this match with an unchanged side that played the second ODI against Bangladesh. They made several changes to the team in the second one-day international. But they are unlikely to change the side again for the final game. Innocent Kaia missed the second match. However, he is a rock-solid contributor to the Zim cause in the ODI format ever since he made a debut for the team. After scoring 110 runs with an immaculate strike rate of 90.16 he will be in charge of the middle order for Zimbabwe. Sikandar Raza is in the form of his life in this series. He has knocked off a couple of hundreds back-to-back and will be looking to score another one in the final match to make it 3 out of 3 in the series.
Zimbabwe has displayed a tremendous fighting spirit in the series. They have won 3 out of their last 4 games. Sikandar Raza has been bowling well also, to go together with his great performance with the bat. He has picked up 4 wickets in the couple of matches played in the series. He took three wickets in the last game apart from scoring a hundred to take his side to victory. His team will be looking up to him to guide them through to another historic win over Bangladesh.

In comparison to Zimbabwe, Bangladesh has been disappointing with both bat and ball. To make the matters worse for the team, injuries have plagued the side and have played a part in the side not doing well in the series. Bangladesh's bowling lacked penetration with the likes of Shoriful Islam, Taskin Ahmad, and Mehidy Hasan proving to be ineffective. Their batsmen have also batted a bit slowly although they did put on big scores in both the matches played so far. The problem was that the batsmen did not go for the kill in the ending portion of their innings. In the 3rd and last match of the series, the visitors will be hoping for a better performance collectively to try and capture a win. They will have to show a great fighting spirit to get back to the winning ways after this demoralizing series loss against the Zim.
Liton Das will be the wicketkeeper batsman for Bangladesh. He tends to be more effective with the bat for Bangladesh. He scored 81 runs in the last game. If he can improve his wicketkeeping skills he will become an invaluable asset to his team. Tamim Iqbal contributed decently in the first match by scoring 62 runs albeit with a slow strike rate of 70.28. But this would have added momentum to his form going into the final match of the series. Anamul Haq was successful in developing momentum with the bat as he scored 73 runs in the first match at a superb strike rate of 117.76. He is one of the top Bangladeshi batsmen and will be hoping for a repeat performance in the final game.
Tamim Iqbal, Anamul Haque, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah, Afif Hossain, Mehidy Hasan, Taijul Islam, Hasan Mahmud, Ebadot Hossain, Mustafizur Rahman.
As we have seen so far, the wicket on offer at the Harare Sports Club venue is full of runs. So, the team winning the toss will be looking to put the other side in the field and bat first. It is always a good idea to have the runs on the board before you can try and restrict the opposition.

Similar to the first couple of matches, the final match of the series is again likely to be a thriller with both teams scoring heavily. There have not been any instances in the first two matches where there was any collapse during the batting effort of either of these sides. The wicket at this venue will support the batsmen to the hilt. Bowlers have struggled in the series and they are likely to be put to the sword again in the final match. They will have to be really on their toes to have any hopes of containing the batters.
Batting first and piling up a huge total to take the match away from the fielding side will be the way to go for both skippers. Having a target of 300 runs will be a safe bet for the team batting first here. Bangladesh looked to be 20 runs short in the second match while batting first. Any score in the region of 320 will be a winning total on this ground.

Although Zimbabwe has done the unthinkable and pulled off an unlikely series win over Bangladesh, we think that Bangladesh is more likely to win the final game and salvage some pride. They are too good a side to go down 3-0 to Zimbabwe.
Although the Bangladesh opening batsmen are in far better nick than their Zimbabwe counterparts, you can expect the Zimbabweans to come out smoking in this game. The top order will be confident after having nothing to lose and may go after the bowling to put together a larger partnership for the first wicket.
Sikandar Raza is in the form of his life in this series. You can pretty much expect him to contribute with the bat again in this match.
Innocent Kaia is expected to do well again in this match. He has been a go-to player with the bat for Zimbabwe in the recent past and this trend will continue in the future.
