Singapore is hosting a Tri-Series involving itself, Nepal, and Zimbabwe. All the matches are going to be T20 internationals and should provide a closely contested fight between Zimbabwe and Nepal. On paper, Zimbabwe should be the clear favorite considering the experience that its players have. However, Zimbabwe’s uncertain future in cricket means that some of its senior players have started to retire to join T20 leagues around the world.
Nepal has come a long way and many people think it could be the next Afghanistan and rise as rapidly.
There will be plenty of attention of the cricketing world on this match.
Zimbabwe vs Nepal Singapore T20 Tri-Series is going to be played at the Indian Association Ground, Singapore.
Zimbabwe was a part of the recently concluded T20 series in Bangladesh where it could only manage one single win. That win, though, came against a very strong Afghanistan side and ended a record-breaking winning streak for the Afghans.
We have no doubt that Zimbabwe is going to full of confidence going into this match against Nepal.
Hamilton Masakadza, one of the senior most payers for Zimbabwe has retired from international cricket, joining the likes of Sikandar Raza, on the freelance circuit. There is still plenty of quality ion the side, though.
Craig Ervine, Sean Williams, and Peter Moor are the three names that come to mind which will pay a big role in the batting department. We think the surface in Singapore should help the Zimbabwe batsmen much more than in Bangladesh and the small boundaries will help them clear the field as well.
Playing spin is going to be a big key of succeeding here and that is why Sean Williams is our player to watch out for in this series.
Tendai Chatara and Wellington Masakadza will lead the bowling attack alongside help from plenty of all-rounders in the side. The Zimbabwe side is definitely the strongest that it has been in recent years but it is still a formidable force against opponents like Nepal and Singapore.
Sean Williams, R Chakabva, Brian Chari, Richmond Mutumbami, Neville Madziva, CT Mutombodzi, Tony Munyonga, Ryan Burl, Tendai Chatara, T Maruma, WP Masakadza.
The passion for the game in Nepal makes its cricket team immensely popular around the world. The players play with so much passion that you cannot but help root for them to make a mark. Nepal’s rise through the associate ranks has been swift but there is still a long way to go and every successive climb up from here on in is going to be exponentially difficult.
Paras Khadka is the captain and stand-out batsman of the group. He is going to be critical to Zimbabwe’s success if they are going to compete against Zimbabwe.
The batting lineup around him is weak and inexperienced. Sandeep Jora and Ishan Pandey are two batters that could be given a role in the top-order while Pawan Sarraf and Aarif Sheikh will help stabilize the middle order.
The real strength of the Nepali team is its bowling. Sandeep Lamichhane is a fixture in T20 leagues around the world and that experience is going to help him immensely at the international level as well.
Sompal Kami and KC Karan are also decent bowlers that are going to give the Zimbabwe side a run for its money.
Paras Khadka, Ishan Pandey, Sompal Kami, Dipendra Singh Airee, B Bhandari, Karan KC, Aarif Sheikh, Sandeep Lamichhane, Abinash Bohara, Sundeep Jora, Kushal Malla.
The team that wins the toss is expected to want to bat first on what is usually a good batting surface

There is some rain forecast in Singapore on match day but it should subside around the time that the match is expected to start. The pitch is going to be a bit of an unknown for the first match. Previous matches here have been very high-scoring and there have been plenty of sixes hit. We can expect something around similar lines for this match as well.
Playing international cricket against established test players is not easy and that experience cannot be replicated. Nepal is a side that has a lot of potential and enthusiasm but when it comes to actual performances on the ground, we fear they may be a bit short. Zimbabwe has the better batting and that should help it win this match.
Bet on Zimbabwe to win.
