Pakistani women continue their African journey as they move to Zimbabwe from South Africa. The scorelines may not suggest it but there were quite a few positives to take for Pakistan from their tour of South Africa. They even managed to win the final T20 international and will be hoping to build on that against Zimbabwe.
This tour is a big one for the Zimbabwe women’s cricket team. They often go long stretches of time without any meaningful cricket and would love an opportunity to take on a quality Pakistan women’s team.
Zimbabwe Women vs Pakistan Women 1st ODI 2021 is going to be played at the Harare Sports Club, Harare on the 9th of February 2021.
Zimbabwe women are going to play a meaningful cricket match almost after an entire year as the pandemic ravaged the women’s cricket calendar. They are going to be led by Mary-Anne Musonda, who is also one of their best middle-order batters.
Musonda is going to be supported by Ashley Ndiraya, Pellagia Mujaji, and Modester Mupachikwa.
This is not a strong batting lineup but it is one that has regularly scored 200 or more in the ODI’s it has played. They are not going to be pushovers in their own backyard.
The bowling is going to be led by Previous Marange and Tasmeen Granger. Just like the batting, there are no big names to speak of but there is inherent stability and steel in this lineup.
Zimbabwe knows its limitations and is going to play within them. It will let Pakistan take the risks.
Ashley Ndiraya, Chiedza Dururu, Modester Mupachikwa, Mary Anne Musonda, Pelagia Mujaji, Josephine Nkomo, Precious Marange, Lorraine Phiri, Tasmeen Granger, Esther Mbofana, Sibanda Nomvelo.
Pakistan will be confident coming into this series. It played some very good cricket and we think a couple of its players really stepped up to the next level. Aliya Riaz and Nida Dar, in particular, were exceptional under pressure.
They are going to be two players to watch out for in this series as well.
Javeria Khan is back and she is going to add a lot of strength to the batting lineup. If Omaima Sohail or Muneeba Ali can hit form early in this match then there is a lot to look forward to every time Pakistan bats.
Diana Baig is the undisputed leader of the bowling attack. SHe was impressive against South Africa and contributed with the bat as well.
Nashra Sandhu and Aiman ANwer are two other bowlers that will be looking to make an impact in this series.
Ayesha Zafar, Muneeba Ali, Omaima Sohail, Javeria Khan, Nida Dar, Aliya Riaz, Sidra Nawaz, Fatima Sana, Diana Baig, Nashra Sandhu, Sadia Iqbal.
The team that wins the toss may want to field first as there is a lot of rain expected on match day. This brings DLS calculations into play and those generally favor the team that chases.

The conditions in Harare are expected to be a bit wet and so we could struggle to get too much cricket. There are thunderstorms forecast and so be prepared for a lot of stoppages and a possible no-result.
The pitch will be good for batting. It is generally flat and offers very little to the bowlers. It is a shame that we may not see too much of it on match day.
We think Pakistan has the better team in this contest. It has just played a tough series against South Africa that will leave it match-fit and hungry for success.
