NZ vs IND Match Preview

New Zealand should continue with Finn Allen and Devon Conway at the top of the order.

Kane Williamson, Tom Latham, Glenn Phillips, Daryl Mitchell, Jimmy Neesham, and one out of Mitch Santner/Michael Bracewell will all be fighting for a spot in the middle order. There is a lot of depth in this batting lineup but finding the patience needed against the Indian spinners is going to be a bit challenging.

Tim Southee, Matt Henry, and one out of Lockie Ferguson or Adam Milne should take up the seam bowling duties. There has been a lot of pace and bounce at the Eden Park off-late and that could play into the hands of the New Zealand team.

India's batting will likely feature Shubman Gill, Shikhar Dhawan, and Shreyas Iyer as the top-3. Surely, SKY has to walk in at number four or even swap places with Shreyas Iyer. Numbers five and 6 are likely to be Rishab Pant and Sanju Samson with an opportunity to play either Deepak Hooda/Shardul Thakur/Washington Sundar as the all-round option.

While India's batting is strong, the bowling is a bit unexperienced. We think sticking with the swing bowlers like Arshdeep and maybe even Shardul Thakur makes sense.

Weather Report

The weather forecast for match day is quite good. There are some clouds likely to be around but no rain is expected.

Pitch Report

The pitch is likely to be fast and bouncy. The small dimensions also make it difficult for the spinners at this venue. We don't think any team will play more than one spinner for this match.

Notable stats

Deceptive Eden Park

You expect this venue to be one of the highest-scoring venues with its postage stamp size and flat pitch. However, 300 has been crossed just once in the last eight innings played here. Be balanced in your Dream11 team selection and don't just pick batters.

Team News

Both teams have not reported any injuries and should have a full squad to choose from.

Dream11 Prediction

We think India has a great chance of pulling off an upset and continuing its successful tour of New Zealand. India's batting is very strong and its swing bowlers+spinner should be able to challenge the New Zealand batters as well.

Top Picks

Suryakumar Yadav - Is an explanation for why you should pick him even necessary? He is in the form of his life and can make a mockery of the small dimensions that Eden Park has.

Kane Williamson - While he looked ordinary in the T20 international, the ODI format is too his liking. He is good against the Indian spinners and can score big.

Yuzvendra Chahal - We think India's premier spinner will be key in picking up wickets during the middle phases. He can be expensive but that is a risk worth taking for this match.
