DC vs RCB Match Prediction - Apr 28, 2019

Once been written off in this edition of the Indian Premier League, Royal Challengers Bangalore have bounced back to not only avoid the bottom place but also stay in the hunt for a playoff spot. RCB are on a three-match winning streak and will be looking to continue to build on their form when they meet high-flying Delhi Daredevils in their upcoming clash at Feroz Shah Kotla. While Capitals' performance at Kotla hasn't been as bad, they do not really relish playing at home with the surface generally suitable for spin bowling. Despite that, the Capitals have managed to maintain their supremacy at the ladder and are behind only CSK at the second position with seven wins in eight matches. Both teams are coming off terrific wins in their respective matches and look in a rampaging mood at the moment. We expect them both to come out all guns blazing and this promises to be a cracker of a contest.

Delhi Capitals

It would be a quite surprising fact for many fans, but prior to this edition, Delhi Capitals have never ever been at the top of the table in the history of the Indian Premier League. They were in this tournament, albeit briefly, and will be looking to regain that top spot with a win in their upcoming fixture.

Delhi Capitals are coming into the back with a couple of back to back wins behind their back which should provide a big boost to their confidence. While both the sides they got past haven't got great credentials in the tournament thus far, they both can be absolute beasts on their day.

While Delhi Capitals boasts of a potent batting lineup on-paper, most of their wins have been set up by their lethal pace bowling attack consisting of Ishant Sharma, Chris Morris, and Kagiso Rabada who all have partnered well to produce excellent results in the powerplay as well as the death overs. With 23 wickets to his name, Kagiso Rabada is leagues ahead in the run for the purple cap, with the next best being Imran Tahir who has picked up 17 wickets in 12 matches.

Delhi Capitals have a powerful, but a little fragile batting unit which we have already seen cracking in a couple of pressure moments. Having said that, the Capitals have done exceedingly well in their last couple of matches. Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, Shreyas Iyer, and Rishabh Pant have all found form moving into the business end of the tournament. Apparently, they have a little inexperience in their batting lineup after three-down, but considering their top-order, it won't be too many times that they need their number six and seven to bail them out.

Royal Challengers Bangalore

RCB's skipper has already said a multiple times that they're taking each and every game as a knockout game and rightly so considering the pit they dug for themselves in the first half of the tournament. After being in almost a position of no return, the Challengers have done tremendously well to get back to the winning ways.

They have registered three back to back wins with different heroes to push them towards the win on all three occasions. Dale Steyn has flown back home owing to a shoulder injury which is definitely a huge setback for the Bengaluru based franchise. However, Virat Kohli and Co. will take heart from the way Umesh Yadav bowled in the last match despite being in a dreadful position a game earlier.

Up until now, we haven't seen the kind of firecrackers we are used to seeing coming out from the blades of Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers and the contribution coming from the rest of the players have been rather refreshing for them. Parthiv Patel, Moeen Ali, and Marcus Stoinis have all played their role to perfection. However, Moeen Ali has returned back to England for International duties which is certainly a huge setback for the Challengers.

While Virat Kohli hasn't been looked like his usual best, he has still racked up plenty of runs in the tournament which also includes a gritty century. AB de Villiers, with a couple of stupendous knocks in their last few games, will be their key man as far as batting is concerned. His ability to demolish any bowling attack will be needed to keep the likes of Rabada and Morris at bay.

RCB's bowling has clearly been their weaker suite, but considering the way Navdeep Saini and Moeen Ali have come along in their last few games, RCB can certainly breathe a sigh of relief, albeit just. They still have a few bases to cover with Umesh Yadav and Tim Southee prone to be carted around the park in the death overs. If RCB can sort out their issues of bowling in the powerplay and the death, they will certainly be a force to deal with.

DC vs RCB Toss Prediction

Had it been a night game, dew would have played a major impact. With dew unlikely to have much of an impact and surface likely to get slower with every passing over, the team winning the toss is expected to bat first here.

Pitch and Conditions

In almost all of the last few matches happened at this venue, we have seen Ricky Ponting being a little angry about the surface they've been getting. Exactly opposite to the kind of surface their bowling is suitable for, Feroz Shah Kotla doesn't really have much for the quick bowlers and plenty for the seamers and Delhi's heat adds to the assistance spinners are able to draw from the surface. Being a day game, we expect the surface to get slower as the game progresses and a total of around 165 should be par here.

DC vs RCB Dream11 Prediction

With both teams being batting heavy and almost all the top-order players costing more than 9 credits, it wasn't easy to pick the batsmen. Not picking Virat Kohli or AB de Villiers wouldn't have made any sense considering the form and consistency they've shown in the tournament thus far. Alongside them, we have included Prithvi Shaw and Shreyas Iyer in our lineup.

Kagiso Rabada walked into our Dream11 side considering the fact he has picked up wickets regardless of the surface and opposition in the tournament thus far. It was a narrow choice between Navdeep Saini, Umesh Yadav, and Yuzvendra Chahal and we decided to go with Yadav and Saini as they both bowl at the death and picking them both allows us to have Axar Patel in our lineup who has done decently in the competition so far.

Parthiv Patel is 0.5 credits cheaper than Rishabh Pant and has been almost at par as far as scoring points in the fantasy league is concerned. Also, he bats higher up the order so has a chance to play more deliveries. We have filled the all-rounders' positions with Chris Morris and Marcus Stoinis alongside Axar Patel. DC vs RCB Betting Tips

Both the sides have a history of being shaky towards the end of the tournament and this match will probably serve as a litmus test for the two sides. Comparing Head to Head, RCB are clearly in front with 15 wins in out the 23 played between the two sides. However, Delhi Capitals have done better than the Challengers in the tournament so far, but they haven't been as effective at home. Royal Challengers Bangalore have the momentum of three wins behind them and with Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Parthiv Patel, and Marcus Stoinis looked in sublime touch in the last match and are more likely to emerge on top in the upcoming match.
