LEI vs NOR Match Prediction - Jul 01, 2022

Leicestershire is going to host Northamptonshire in this next T20 Blast 2022 match as both teams look to break out from the middle of the table rut that they seem to have gotten into. They are right next to each other in the North Group standings with six wins each. Northamptonshire has played one match more, though.

The cricket betting sites have Northamptonshire as the favorite to win this match. We think there may be a betting opportunity to explore here. Leicestershire is on a three-match winning streak coming into this one while Northamptonshire has lost its previous three matches.

LEI vs NOR Team Previews

Leicestershire

Leicestershire has won its previous three matches and with two matches still to go in the group stages, will hope to end on a high and maybe just make its way into the playoffs. One of the massive successes for Leicestershire this season has been Naveen ul Haq. He has picked up 23 wickets, the most for any bowler in the entire tournament, and is helping make Leicestershire a tough team to score runs against.

He picked up four wickets in his previous outing as well and was very well supported by Rehan Ahmed, Ben Mike, and Wiaan Mulder.

The bowling attack for the Leicestershire Foxes seems to be well sorted.

The challenge for the team has been getting runs on the board. That is still a weakness but players like Hill, Lilley, and Mulder have shown some signs of form.

This is not the strongest batting lineup but it is in good form and confident with the recent results going its way.

Leicestershire Playing 11

Nick Welch, Rishi Patel, Arron Lilley, Colin Ackermann, Lewis Hill, Wiaan Mulder, Louis Kimber, Ben Mike, Rehan Ahmed, Naveen-ul-Haq, Callum Parkinson.

Northamptonshire

Northamptonshire looked set to play in the Finals Day this season but that is far from certain at this stage. This is going to be the last match that Northamptonshire plays in the group stage and even if it wins, it will end up with seven wins and a run rate that is poorer than Yorkshire.

Lynn, Cobb, Zaib, and Keogh are all good batters but they have not been as consistent as you need during this closing stage of the tournament. Lynn needs to be at his destructive best to be able to carry Northamptonshire and we are a bit wary of backing him right now.

Having James Neesham in the middle order is also a huge asset. He has got the experience and the nerve to deliver under pressure.

Neesham is also an important part of the bowling lineup. Sanderson, Buck, White, and McManus all help form a pretty decent bowling unit.

We like Northamptonshire as a team but the only concern is that it is in poor form coming into this game.

Northamptonshire Playing 11

Ben Curran, Chris Lynn, Josh Cobb, Saif Zaib, James Neesham, Lewis McManus, Tom Taylor, Graeme White, Freddie Heldreich, Ben Sanderson, Rob Keogh.

Pitch and Conditions

The weather forecast for Leicester is not very good. There is some rain around in the area and there may be some interruptions. The pitch at Grace Road is also more balanced and allows the bowlers a chance as well. We think the par score is going to be around 170 but this may be a bit lower scoring than otherwise considering the batting form of both teams.

LEI vs NOR Betting Tips

We are going to bet on Leicestershire to win. It comes into this match in great form and with a pretty good bowling lineup. Northamptonshire is struggling as a batting unit and we think that could continue in this match as well.

Bet on Leicestershire to win.
