SYD vs ADS Team Previews

Sydney Sixers

With a momentous win against Hobart Hurricanes, both in the context of the tournament and in absolute terms, Sydney Sixers climbed to the second position in the points table. Such was their dominance against Hobart Hurricanes that they gunned down the target of 173 with 17 balls to spare.

Bowling first on a sluggish sort of surface, their bowlers failed to make early inroads against the prolific pair of Matthew Wade and D'Arcy Short. Barring Pope, who conceded 33 in his three overs without any success, all bowlers bowled reasonably well. Although they failed to pick up wickets, they never allowed Hurricanes to run away with the match.

The win against Hobart Hurricanes was all due to the 167-run stand between James Vince and Josh Phillipe. The 21-year old, Phillipe, got the ball rolling fairly quickly which allowed James Vince the time to settle down. Once set, the duo smashed Hurricanes' bowlers to all parts of the ground and achieved the required total in 17.1 overs. Phillipe scored 86 from 49 deliveries whereas Vince contributed with 74 off 50 deliveries.

Adelaide Strikers

Adelaide Strikers are going through a dismal run with just one win in their last five matches. Their bowlers were deflated by D'Arcy Short and Matthew Wade in their match against Hobart Hurricanes and the effect of which lasted in their subsequent game which was against Melbourne Stars.

Their bowlers failed to make any impact whatsoever even on a bowler-friendly surface against the star-studded batting lineup of Stars as they could pick only two wickets as the Stars scored 167 runs in 20 overs. Barring Rashid Khan, who too proved to be expensive by his standards, no bowlers tasted success. Billy Stanlake was economical upfront and returned with the figures of 4-0-26-0.

In reply to Stars' total, Adelaide Strikers never appeared to be threatening on the sluggish surface of Ted Summerton Reserve ground. Barring Alex Carey, who scored 30 off 23, and Jake Lehmann who contributed with a well-made 40, none of their batsmen looked settled. After Carey's dismissal, all fell apart for Strikers as they collapsed from 97 for 3 to 123 all out.

SYD vs ADS Betting Tips

It's an important fixture for both the sides as far as qualification for the playoffs is concerned. Sydney Sixers will like to register a win to maintain their second spot at the ladder. For Adelaide Strikers, a win is imperative to stay in the hunt. They've been dismal in their last five matches and they'd need something special from their batsmen and their bowlers to bounce back into the contention. Sydney Sixers are looking a well-settled unit, especially after the win over Hurricanes, and go in as favorites to win the upcoming match.
