ADSW vs BHW Match Prediction - Nov 24, 2022

After finishing second on the WBBL ladder with a decent 8-5 record, the Strikers will face the Heat after Brisbane won the Eliminator matchup over the Hurricanes.

The winner of this Challenger game between the Strikers and Heat will next battle the Sixers in the Final.

ADSW vs BHW Team Previews

Adelaide Strikers Women

The Strikers have been in fine form heading into the Challenger matchup after winning their last two games against the Thunder and Hurricanes.

One of the biggest positives about Adelaide has been the much-improved play of batters Laura Wolvaardt (341 runs) and Katie Mack (317 runs), as they’ve really upped their performances to help Adelaide shine. Wolvaardt was surprising with a duck against Hobart, but sandwiched between that bad game were 45 runs and 75* runs.

Mack’s scores are all over the place and she is yet to hit even a half-century, but she is capable of providing solid runs and assisting Wolvaardt with a great partnership.

Megan Schutt (23 wickets) and Amanda-Jade Wellington (21 wickets) have been extremely reliable for the Strikers’ bowling attack, and the team will have to rely heavily on these two to limit the runs from Brisbane’s impressive batters like Redmayne and Wyatt.

Pacer Schutt is perhaps the better of the two, as she recently took 3/38 and 6/19 in her last two matches.

Brisbane Heat Women

The Heat have advanced to the next round of the WBBL finals by defeating the Hurricanes fairly convincingly by 44 runs. Although she returned from a hamstring injury, star batter Georgia Redmayne was far from the best player by only scoring 14 runs.

However, Brisbane got the help they needed from Danni Wyatt and her strong 52 runs. Apart from Laura Harris’ 44 runs, it wasn’t a big scoring match for the Heat, but a win’s a win. Redmayne could have been quite rusty from her time off, but it’s possible she’ll play better in the next matchup after her stint at the crease. Plus, 14 runs are still a bit of help!

Voll still isn’t batting incredibly well, but it’s a good thing Wyatt and Laura Harris are still scoring a lot in the build-up to the Challenger match. This is the second game in a row that Wyatt has scored exactly 52 runs, which bodes well for a tough bowling attack from the Strikers.

Strangely, star bowlers Hancock and Kerr weren’t much use here, as they combined for giving up 47 runs and taking just one wicket. Still, Brisbane is so strong because when one player falls, there’s someone else to take their place, as this was the case with captain Jessica Jonassen shining with a 4/23 performance.

ADSW vs BHW Toss Prediction

Adelaide is slightly better when batting first against the Heat, so they should look to keep this up if winning the toss.

Pitch and Conditions

This pitch seems to favour batters based on previous games, so hopefully there are some big scores here.

ADSW vs BHW Betting Tips

This is going to be the toughest matchup for the Heat, as the Strikers are no pushover by any means. The teams are so evenly balanced, and the odds certainly reflect this, so it’s a bit of a coin flip.

The Heat have an 11-7 record over the Strikers, but Adelaide has just been playing so well lately and the form of Redmayne is a question mark. It’s hard to know if we’ll get the current or old version of this star batter!

If Adelaide can dismiss Wyatt for a very low score, then they have a strong chance of victory. Having Wolvaardt and Schutt playing some of the best cricket of their lives just makes us trust the Strikers more than the Heat, and as Brisbane can be up and down with their performances, we’ll go with Adelaide here.

Bet on the Strikers to win.
