Australia continues to crush the Pakistan women’s team and there’s little reason to doubt their success in the next two T20 games. There are just so many talented players for bat and ball, as even though Mooney didn’t bat, there was Ellyse Perry to pick up the runs with 57*.

It’s safe to say that Megan Schutt was the star player of the day, as she took an incredible 5/15 from four overs (including one maiden over). Perry and King both took two wickets, but it was great to see Schutt back in action, as she hadn’t taken a wicket in their previous three matches.

Pakistan Women

There was some hope that Pakistan could forget the ODI thrashing and move on to a clean slate with the T20 series, but the same struggles were seen once more.

Fast bowler Megan Schutt demolished the Pakistan batters and they just didn’t have an answer. Nida Dar (8) and Bishah Maroof (1) were quite disappointing, although the team did get a spark of optimism with solid scores from Omaima Sohail (30) and Ayesha Naseem (24). Indeed, Sohail is a good prospect for the future after making 420 total runs from 35 T20 innings.

Despite bowling out Lanning and McGrath for a combined total of 28 runs, there were no other wickets taken and the Pakistan bowlers were smashed around the ground by the experienced Aussies. Dar’s 1/17 from two overs was a good sign, however.
