CK vs OV Match Prediction & Betting Tips - Nov 04, 2022
We are just about into the far end of the year with the holiday season just about to begin. With that, what we are to see is cricket season as well getting underway in the southern hemisphere of the world. The Cricketing season in Australia and New Zealand was kicked off by the World Cup 2022 and will be taken forward with several domestic competitions.
Plunkett Shield is well underway with a few matches already done and dusted and things are looking pretty exciting at the moment. Up next in the tournament, we have Canterbury Kings set to take on Otago Volts in what will be an important match for both these sides.
The match between the two sides is to be played on 5th November 2022 at the Hagley Oval, Christchurch.
CK vs OV Team Previews
Canterbury Kings
Canterbury Kings have done a decent job up until now and will be brimming with confidence coming into this match. From a total of two matches played, they have garnered 24 points, thanks to a win and a draw. They are sitting pretty on the points table and a win will only add to their excellent position. On paper, they do have an excellent side despite a few players away to play for the Kiwis national side.
They started their campaign with a draw against Central Stags but it didn't take them a lot of time to get on a winning trajectory. In their second match, they recorded a 290-run win over Wellington. They will be looking to build on the momentum they have and keeping them quiet is not going to be easy.
Canterbury Kings Playing 11
Angus McKenzie, Mitchell Hay, William O'Rourke, Cole McConchie, Chad Bowes, Fraser Sheat, Henry Shipley, Henry Nicholls, Leo Carter, Matt Henry, Tom Latham.
Otago Volts
Otago Volts have been one of the worst-performing sides in the limited overs cricket in the Kiwi domestic circuit but that has not been the case in the longest version of the game. They did a decent job in the last couple of seasons and have started this one on a pretty good note too. They defeated Auckland in their opening game and then on to secure a draw against the Northern Knights.
Just like Canterbury Kings, the Volts too are on 24 points with one win and one draw. A win here will push them to an excellent position and that is exactly what they'll be aiming for. Considering how they have done so far and the team they have on paper, they will be a tough side to get past, for sure.
Otago Volts Playing 11
Dale Phillips, Jacob Cumming, Jake Gibson, Max Chu, Thorn Parkes, Dean Foxcroft, Hamish Rutherford, Jacob Duffy, Michael Rae, Michael Rippon, Travis Muller.
CK vs OV Betting Tips
With both teams doing well in the tournament, this match is pretty much what will decide the top of the table occupants. Both sides would want to get there and will likely come out all guns blazing. Considering how things have been, there's nothing to choose between the two on form. On paper, however, Canterbury Kings appear to be a slightly better-balanced side and are, therefore, our pick as favorites to emerge on top here.
