It’s been a pretty exciting CSA Provincial One-Day Challenge this year with most top teams doing particularly well. In the Division One of the tournament, the competition is pretty stiff at the top and all teams would want to unleash themselves hereon as we approach the business end of the league stage.
We have the Lions set to take on the Knights in what is going to be a match of high importance for both these sides, but for different reasons. The Knights have been poor and will need a win to stay in the hunt. Lions, on the other hand, have been doing pretty well and will be targeting an early qualification to the playoffs.

Lions have been one of the most consistent sides in the history of the tournament and will be keen to put another big performance here in this tournament. They are already in an excellent position, being at the second spot on the points table with 14 points to their name. A win here will push them to the top, ahead of Western Province, and that is exactly what they will be aiming for. The Lions have a side loaded with experience and class and unless they perform poorly, they should not be easy to keep quiet.

Knights may be one of the most followed sides in the competition, but they certainly haven’t impressed their fans thus far. Not only have they failed to win more than a match in the competition so far, they have a pretty poor net run-rate showing how poor they have been. They have played four matches and won just one. A win here will just about keep them in the hunt for the playoffs and a loss will most likely mean curtains to their campaign. They have a decent side on paper and they are able to play to their potential, getting past them could prove to be a challenging task.
