St. Lucia Kings won their previous match against TKR by just one run but the scorecard is a bit misleading. The runs for TKR came when the match was already decided and so it looks a lot closer than it actually was. The Kings will be happy that Johnson Charles, Niroshan Dickwella, and David Wiese are scoring runs at this crucial stage in the CPL. 

Faf du Plessis, Roston Chase, and Adam Hose need to step up but it does look like the Kings have some sort of plan in the way they approach their inning. The most impactful player out of the lot is David Wiese, no doubt about that. 

Alzarri Joseph has had a brilliant CPL and is continuing to pick wickets in almost every match. Chase also picked up three in the previous match and that is a very important sign for the Kings. In terms of bowling, the St. Lucia Kings do not have the quality and depth that some of the others do so having a couple of bowlers in prime form is a great option.

The Guyana Amazon Warriors were down and out in their match against the Jamaica Tallawahs before a spectacular last four overs saw them leap ahead. 74 runs were hit in the final four overs of their batting stint thanks to some brilliant ball striking by Odean Smith and Keemo Paul. 

Apart from this short spell of brilliance, though, the Guyana Amazon Warriors were still quite poor. Should you now be willing to bet that the turnaround has started or just accept that there will be moments of brilliance from the top tier of players? We are not going overboard just yet. 

The top order for the Guyana Amazon Warriors is struggling and not able to make much of an impact. The Warriors were 98 for 7 before Odean Smith played his spectacular knock. Also, the bowling lineup is just about average.  On the plus side, the addition of Shakib al Hasan to the lineup is a big plus and Imran Tahir is likely to be more effective in Guyana.
