India
India is now the favorite to win the T20 World Cup according to most bookmakers. However, we don't think that means much at this stage. Any team can get on a roll and win two T20 matches or have a bad day. It is important to see the more recent form and the team composition with respect to matchups.
Three out of India's top-4 batters are in great form. KL Rahul starts slow but then accelerates rapidly. Virat Kohli is making the most of the big grounds with his quick running and conventional shots, and SKY is redefining what T20 batting is all about.
Rohit Sharma has not quite delivered so far (one fifty against the Netherlands notwithstanding) but England will be worried about him. A proven match-winner, Rohit Sharma is one of those players that can get a really big score once he gets going.
Hardik Pandya and Rishab Pant are the two players we think will play this match, giving India a lot of power during the end overs. The question mark is going to be over playing two spinners that can bat a bit (Axar and Ashwin) or maybe trying Deepak Hooda once more.
We think India would like to have six bowling options at its disposal in a crucial match against England.

England
England has been a bit subdued in the T20 World Cup so far. Rain washed out one of its marquee games against Australia and the loss to Ireland raised some questions. Now, against India, England will need to be at its best. News emerging from the English camp suggests that Dawid Malan may not be fit in time for the match against India.
That means England could add Phil Salt to its lineup, an excellent attacking option that could bat at three or England could add Tymal Mills to their lineup. Mills has a great record in Australia, bowls the hard lengths, and England still has plenty of batting options to cover the loss of Malan.
Either way, though, it is not ideal that England will be without one of its best batters in a World Cup semi-final.
The list of match winners in the English lineup is not small. Jos Buttler, Alex Hales (both in good form), Moeen Ali, Liam Livingstone (enforcers with the bat), and Mark Wood (fastest bowler in the tournament) can all turn the match on its head.
The problem for England has been finding a way to use its resources optimally. An early wicket or two could send flutters down the English lineup. We are also not too sure about Jos Buttler's leadership. He frequently makes some daft choices.

The weather forecast for Adelaide is excellent on match day. There is a bit of rain forecast on Wednesday but the outlook for Thursday is very good. The pitch in Adelaide was a bit slow by the time the last couple of matches were played, however, a fresh surface will be used for this match. Also, there is enough time to get the wicket prepared.
We expect a batting beauty. The short boundaries also play into the hands of the batters. We think something around 170-180 is going to be par for this match.

We are going to back India to win. The two teams are quite evenly matched but India has a clear idea of what it wants from its players. Also, the batting form of Virat Kohli and SKY could be the decisive factor in this match. Both teams are loaded with batting firepower but India's swing bowling is likely to be tougher to face as well.

Also, neither team has really pocked down its bowling performances so far. Over 12.5 sixes in this match is not out of the question at all. We like the odds being offered considering the likelihood of this coming through.
Kohli loves Adelaide. He has so far not been dismissed in T20 cricket while playing in Adelaide and his record across formats at this venue is just mind boggling. We think he is a good bet to clear the boundary at least once during this match.
