The Joburg Super Kings and Durban's Super Giants (DSG) have been the two worst teams of SA 20 2023 so far. They sit at the bottom of the table and also have a pretty poor net run rate. In terms of the overall tournament, the teams are so closely packed together that every result will change the standings dramatically.
The Joburg Super Kings are the favorites but the Durban Super Giants should not be taken lightly either.

Joburg Super Kings
An excellent bowling performance from the Joburg Super Kings was the reason for their victory over the Sunrisers in their previous match. Aaron Phangiso and Geral Coetzee picked up four wickets each while the rest of the bowlers also kept the pressure up.
There is a bit of a cloud over Phangiso since his action was reported by the umpires. As of now, he remains available for selection.
The bowling is not really a problem for the Super Kings, though. The batting is where they have really struggled.
Faf du Plessis and Leus du Plooy are the batters that will lead the batting lineup. They have not had much support and other players like Reeza Hendricks, Donavan Ferreira, and Romario Shepherd will have to step up.

Durban Super Giants
Durban's Super Giants recruited poorly and now they are also using the resources at their disposal very strangely. We saw Quinton de Kock push himself down to number five while chasing down 210, Kyle Mayers play out an over while the asking rate was close to 12, and Dwaine Pretorius being rated as a worse batter than Jason Holder.
The core of the batting group is talented and dangerous. Heinrich Klaasen has been in terrific form and we all know what a motivated de Kock can do. The problem has been getting that consistency from the batting lineup as well as getting the bowling unit to chip in.
There is no real fast bowler in the lineup and no wrist-spinner to call on. Akila Danajaya, Keshav Maharaj, and Prenalan Subrayen are not going to keep any of the Joburg Super Kings up late at night worrying.

We think the Joburg Super Kings have a great chance to get their fourth win of SA 20 2023 and find themselves near the top of the standings. They have a jittery batting lineup but their bowling attack is quite good. The leadership of Faf du Plessis is also much better than what Quinton de Kock has shown.
