The Joburg Super Kings will be looking to build upon their winning momentum as they face the MI Cape Town for their final match in the group stage of the SA20 League.
The Super Kings have already made it into the semifinals but a win here will cement their place at the 2nd spot on the points table. The MI Cape Town, on the other hand, has already crashed out but will be looking to end the campaign with heads held high.
Powered by a scintillating Faf du Plessis, the Joburg Super Kings have played some exciting cricket over the last couple of weeks., winning 4 of their last 5 completed matches, including the latest one played against the Sunrisers Eastern Cape. In that match, du Plessis scored a superb 92 of just 61 deliveries to score his second half-century of the season.
Reeza Hendricks seems to be peaking just at the right time, as the put up a second consecutive 100+ partnership for the opening wicket. The partnership was instrumental in helping the Super Kings secure a 24-run win over their opponents.
As the tournament enters the knockout stages, more will be expected of the middle order. Leus du Plooy and Donavon Ferreira have got a couple of decent innings under their belt and will be looking to make a bigger contribution going ahead.
Gerald Coetzee will once again head the seam department, aided by Romario Shepherd. Kyle Simmonds brought in as a replacement for Aaron Phangiso, bowled a brilliant spell in the last match, picking up 3 wickets for 23 runs, and will be supported by Maheesh Theekshana.
Faf du Plessis, Reeza Hendricks, Leus du Plooy, Sibonelo Makhanya, Matthew Wade, Donovan Ferreira, Romario Shepherd, Gerald Coetzee, Kyle Simmonds, Lizaad Williams, Maheesh Theekshana.
The MI Cape Town started the season as one of the favorites to lift the inaugural title of the SA20. However, they have put up an underwhelming performance so far, managing to win just 3 of the 9 matches they have played so far. As a result, they are languishing at the bottom of the points table.
The team has some excellent all-rounders but they have failed to score runs consistently. Rassie van der Dussen, Dewald Brevis, and Grant Roelofsen have done a decent job at the top of the order but the middle-order batsmen including George Linde and Tim David have failed to score consistently.
Kagiso Rabada has been the best bowler for Cape Town, picking up 11 wickets, while the other seamer, Odean Smith has picked up 9. Rashid Khan hasn’t been in the best of forms this season as he has picked up only 9 wickets in as many games. Sam Curran has picked up 6 wickets but has been very expensive and has also failed to live up to his reputation as a pinch-hitter.
Once the season ends, the MI Cape Town will need to get back to the drawing board and chalk out a better plan for the next edition.

The pitch at Johannesburg has produced some high-scoring games this season and we can expect more of the same in this match. The average first-inning score here is around 165 but the team batting first will be looking at scores over 180 to feel safe.
The skies will remain overcast, aiding the seamers and the temperature is expected to remain below 25 degrees Celsius.
A look at the overall performance of both teams this season tells us that the only team to back here is the Joburg Super Kings. While one will not find much value in that bet, it will not be prudent to bet against them. Punters can place some in-play bets to get better returns out of this match.
Bet on the Joburg Super Kings to win this match.
Both openers of the Super Kings, Faf du Plessis, and Reeza Hendricks are in good form and have put up century stands in the last 2 completed games and both those games were played on this very ground. As Cape Town hasn’t been performing well this season, we think that the pair will score freely against them and that’s why we are recommending an Over bet here.
