Powered by a scintillating Faf du Plessis, the Joburg Super Kings have played some exciting cricket over the last couple of weeks., winning 4 of their last 5 completed matches, including the latest one played against the Sunrisers Eastern Cape. In that match, du Plessis scored a superb 92 of just 61 deliveries to score his second half-century of the season.
Reeza Hendricks seems to be peaking just at the right time, as the put up a second consecutive 100+ partnership for the opening wicket. The partnership was instrumental in helping the Super Kings secure a 24-run win over their opponents.
As the tournament enters the knockout stages, more will be expected of the middle order. Leus du Plooy and Donavon Ferreira have got a couple of decent innings under their belt and will be looking to make a bigger contribution going ahead.
Gerald Coetzee will once again head the seam department, aided by Romario Shepherd. Kyle Simmonds brought in as a replacement for Aaron Phangiso, bowled a brilliant spell in the last match, picking up 3 wickets for 23 runs, and will be supported by Maheesh Theekshana.

The MI Cape Town started the season as one of the favorites to lift the inaugural title of the SA20. However, they have put up an underwhelming performance so far, managing to win just 3 of the 9 matches they have played so far. As a result, they are languishing at the bottom of the points table.
The team has some excellent all-rounders but they have failed to score runs consistently. Rassie van der Dussen, Dewald Brevis, and Grant Roelofsen have done a decent job at the top of the order but the middle-order batsmen including George Linde and Tim David have failed to score consistently.
Kagiso Rabada has been the best bowler for Cape Town, picking up 11 wickets, while the other seamer, Odean Smith has picked up 9. Rashid Khan hasn’t been in the best of forms this season as he has picked up only 9 wickets in as many games. Sam Curran has picked up 6 wickets but has been very expensive and has also failed to live up to his reputation as a pinch-hitter.
Once the season ends, the MI Cape Town will need to get back to the drawing board and chalk out a better plan for the next edition.
