After a sedate start to the season, the Joburg Super Kings have finally managed to get some winning momentum going as they won their last 2 completed games. As a result, they have managed to climb up to 4th place, leading the Durban Super Giants. The Super Kings do have an extra game in hand, which will be a bonus in this race to the knockout stage.
The Super Kings’ batting has revolved around captain Faf du Plessis, who has been in good form this season. Du Plessis has scored a century and a half-century so far and is the leading scorer for the Super Kings with 277 runs.
Leus du Plooy has provided him with good support in the middle order, but the form of Reeza Hendricks and Donavon Ferreira remains a cause for concern. The team has brought in Matthew Wade to strengthen the batting line-up for the remainder of the season.
The bowling too has been pretty average so far. After the departure of Aaron Phangiso, Maheesh Theekshana is the only spinner on the side who can trouble the opposition batsmen. Gerald Coetzee however has been excellent, picking up 12 wickets in 6 matches. The Super Kings no doubt have quite a few talented players in the squad, but they will have to step up to get the team to the next stage without any hiccups.

After losing consecutive matches at the start of the season, the Sunrisers have shifted gear and have won 4 of their previous 6 completed matches and are now 2nd on the points table, with an equal number of points as the Paarl Royals. With this being the Sunrisers’ last group-stage match, they will have to win this one to improve their chances to make it to the playoffs.
Batting has been one of the biggest strengths for the Sunrisers this season, as much of their top and middle order have been in good form. Jordan Hermann and Adam Rossington have given the team a couple of good starts, while Tristan Stubbs has added valuable runs toward the end of the innings.
The team has also signed up in-form batsman Temba Bavuma for the remainder of the season and that will only enhance the team’s batting capabilities. JJ Smuts, Marco Jansen, and Aiden Markram have showcased their all-round abilities. Roelof van der Merwe is the best bowler in the squad with 14 wickets in his kitty, while Sisanda Magala has done a decent job with the new ball.
The Sunrisers have a well-balanced side with plenty of good performers in their side and they have a good chance of making it to the finals.

The Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg has an excellent batting track and has hosted quite a few high-scoring encounters this season. However, it has been raining here for the past few days, and we might see some uneven bounce and a slow outfield.
