The Karachi Kings are off to a terrible start this season as they have lost both of their opening matches so far. What is worse is that both defeats have come at home and Karachi will find it quite difficult to get themselves out of this dip in form.
The batsmen have done a decent job for the Karachi Kings in both matches so far as they have posted scores of 197 and 173 in the 2 matches played so far. Shoaib Malik and Imad Wasim scored individual half-centuries in the opening match played against the Peshawar Zalmi, albeit for a losing cause as the team lost the match by 2 wickets.
Opener Sharjeel Khan and Haider Ali too looked to be in good form in the previous match, as the duo put up a 77-run partnership for the second wicket. The bowling effort however has been a bit underwhelming as the likes of Mohammad Amir and Andrew Tye have been taken for a lot of runs.
The bowling unit gave away a mammoth 199 runs in the opening game and was unable to defend a good total of 173 in the second match. The team management will have to make a new strategy going forward if they want to make a turnaround.

The Quetta Gladiators were outplayed and outflanked by the Multan Sultans in the season opener. The much-touted batting line-up collapsed against a bowling masterclass by young seamer Ihsanullah as the seamer picked up his first fifer in the PSL. Just 2 of the top 6 batsmen from the Gladiators managed to reach double digits as the team was bowled out for just 110.
The bowling effort too was below par as they could manage to get just 1 wicket and the Sultans scored a thumping 9-wicket win. The team will be looking upon the likes of Jason Roy, Martin Guptill, and Iftikhar Ahmed to play a big inning here.
Naseem Shah didn’t manage to get any wickets but was quite miserly, giving away just 6 runs in his 2 overs. Nuwan Thushara was the lone wicket-taker for the team but was very expensive. Quetta Gladiators lack quality spinners in their bowling line-up and will be depending on part-timers including Mohammad Hafeez and Mohammad Nawaz to keep a check on the batsmen during the middle overs.
