Both teams have registered big victories in their opening matches and have some very talented players in their ranks. There is always a bit of extra to play for when two southern giants are playing against each other.

Karnataka

Karnataka has a T20 team that is absolutely stacked. It has several players that headline IPL teams and those that are in the running for a place in the Indian national team as well. Devdutt Padikkal is one of those players and he started the tournament with a brilliant century.

Mayank Aggarwal, Manish Pandey, and Abhinav Manohar, all of whom play in the IPL, are also in the lineup. That gives Karnataka one of the strongest batting lineups in the entire tournament. Someone like K Gowtham can also be a massive striker of the ball down the order.

The bowling unit is a good mix of domestic experience and some upcoming players. Gowtham, Suchit, and Gopal all bring top-level IPL experience while Kaverappa, Kousik, and Vyshak are hugely impressive as well.

Kerela will be without Sanju Samson as he is with the Indian team and that makes their batting a bit weaker than normal. They have Sachin Baby, Vishnu Vinod, and Mohammad Azharuddeen who are all talented but perhaps not at the same level as the batters in the Karnataka camp.

We think Azharuddeen is someone who can really make the jump to the next level and will be someone to watch out for.

Basil Thampi will lead the bowling attack with support from Sijomon Joseph, Sudhesan Midhun, and NP Basil. This is not a very strong bowling lineup and could struggle to keep the Karnataka batters in check.
