Middlesex

The Surrey team played their last game in this competition against Yorkshire. They ended their campaign on a losing note going down to Yorkshire. It was a closely fought affair in 2022 July played at The Oval that went right down the wire. Batting first Yorkshire put up a score of 160 runs on the board for the loss of 5 wickets. The Surrey batting made a game attempt at the title coming close to it. But they fell short by a single run, in the end, to lose out by a margin of one run. Tom Kohler-Cadmore playing for Yorkshire was named player of the match with 62 runs scored from 48 balls.

One of the key players for the Surrey team is Rory Burns. He was among the runs in the last game Surrey played in last year's competition. In this game while batting first Yorkshire inning ran into troubled water immediately. They lost their openers with almost nothing on the board. However, the Yorkshire middle order responded well to the situation with Tom Kohler-Cadmore who is a wicketkeeper-batsman, scoring a brisk 62 from 48 balls with five fours and 2 sixes. They scored 35 and 40 runs respectively. However, this collective effort was not to be fruitful.
