The Mumbai Indians Women were cruising along right from the start of the season as they won each of their first 5 games and seemed right on track to finish at the top of the points table. However, back-to-back losses in matches against the Warriorz and the Delhi Capitals threw a spanner in the works and the team had to settle for a second-place finish.

The top order has done an excellent job for the Mumbai Indians as Hayley Matthews, Yastika Bhatia, and Nat Sciver-Brunt are all in good form and the team will bank on them to give another good start here. Harmanpreet Kaur has been very consistent in the middle order as she has scored 3 half-centuries in 7 innings so far.

One of the biggest strengths of the Mumbai Indians is that they have a lot of depth in their batting. Amelia Kerr, Pooja Vastrakar, Issy Wong, and Amanjot Kaur can all use the willow to good effect and will play an important role here if the top order fails. The Mumbai Indians Women have 3 of the top-4 highest wicket-takers of the tournament, which talks volumes about the discipline shown by their bowling line-up.

Hayley Matthews, Amelia Kerr, and Saika Ishaque make up a formidable spin attack and have picked up a whopping 38 wickets between them. The pace attack is pretty well-balanced too, with Issy Wong and Nat Sciver-Brunt leading the charge with the new ball. The Mumbai Indians undoubtedly have one of the most balanced sides in the tournament.

UP Warriorz Women

The Warriorz haven’t been consistent with their performances during the group stages, but they have done enough to claim the 3rd spot on the points table.Skipper Alyssa Healy has been brilliant at the top of the order but has struggled to find a good opening partner to support her. The team has shuffled with Devika Vaidya and Shweta Sehrawat in the opening role but none have managed to put up a good show.

Tahlia McGrath, who is the top-ranked batter in Women’s T20 cricket, has put up a stellar show so far, scoring 4 half-centuries in 7 innings and is 2nd on the list of top run-getters for the season. Kiran Navgire was sent in at number 5 during the last match, but in our view, the team needs to send her a bit earlier so that she gets time to settle in.

Grace Harris has been a consistent performer with the bat and also provides another bowling option to the team, but for some reason, she has been in and out of the team. The Warriorz will once again rely on their spinners to put up a good show here. Sophie Ecclestone is the leading wicket-taker in the tournament with 14 wickets and has been well supported by Deepti Sharma and Rajeshwari Gayakwad.

The young Parshavi Chopra bowled well in her debut match and has a promising career ahead of her. Anjali Sarvani has struggled a bit and the team will likely add Shabmim Ismail to add extra bite to their pace attack.
