Multan Sultans

The Multan skipper Mohammad Rizwan managed to hit 66 runs from 42 balls. The star player for this game was Rilee Rossouw who hit 75 runs from 36 balls. These batters thrashed the opposition bowlers during their effort.

The bowlers did not let the Multan side down as they joined the party to restrict the opposition batters to a score of 154 runs. Usama Mir and Ihsanullah picked up 3 wickets each with the Peshwar batters struggling right through their innings. Multan will be looking forward to maintaining their momentum against the Islamabad outfit in this game and registering another win to consolidate their position at the top of the table. The Islamabad United side started their campaign in the PSL 2023 with a resounding win over Karachi Kings. The Islamabad team bowled first in the match and saw the opposition setting a good total on the board of 173 runs from their quota of 20 overs. The Islamabad bowlers got off to a shaky start but they managed to pull back the strings in their favor during the second part of the opposition's innings. Some of their successful bowlers in the game were Mohammad Wasim, Tom Curran, and Rummam Raes who picked up a couple of wickets apiece.

During their innings, the Islamabad United middle order came to the party leading their side to a win while chasing down a difficult target. Their openers could not give them the kind of start they were hoping for and were dislodged for single-digit scores. But thanks to the efforts put in by the United middle order their chase turned out to be a successful one. The top run-getter for Islamabad United was Colin Munro hitting 58 runs from 28 balls. It was terrific hitting lower down the order and he was well-aided by Azam Khan who hit 44 runs from 28 balls.

Rassie van der Dussen was also in good touch as he stabilized the innings after a shaky start. He scored 31 runs from 25 balls with 4 fours and 1 six. But it was Colin Munro who brought the team roaring back in contention for the win hitting 4 sixes and 5 fours during his innings. Tom Curran hit some lusty blows towards the end with a six and a four to complete the chase successfully in 18.2 overs. Earlier during the Karachi inning Rumman Raees and Faheem Ashraf bowled pretty economically with economy rates of 6.50 and 6.25 respectively.
