Owned by a USA-based Indian entrepreneur, the Morrisville SAMP Army is one of the most exciting teams in the contest.

The team has appointed South African veteran Lance Klusener as well the head coach of the team. He will be joined by his teammate Jonty Rhodes, who has been bought in as a mentor. The team management has done pretty well to pick a well-balanced squad.

English all-rounder Moeen Ali, who has a pretty good experience in the T10 format, has been appointed as the captain. He will be joined by the likes of Colin de Grandhomme, Dwaine Pretorius, and Ahmed Raza. The key player for Morrisville will undoubtedly be David Miller, whose batting exploits are well known.

The batting is further strengthened with the presence of Shimron Hetmeyer and Bas de Leede. Anrich Nortje and Sheldon Cottrell will be leading the bowling attack.

The Bangla Tigers began their latest campaign in the tournament on a winning note, defeating the other newcomers New York Strikers by 19 runs.

Evin Lewis played scored a quick-fire 58 of just 22 deliveries to help the Tigers set a stiff target of 132. Captain Shakib Al Hasan bowled a superb spell, giving away just 7 runs in his 2 overs, and picking up the important wicket of Muhammad Waseem. He was well supported by Matheesha Pathirana and Rohan Mustafa, both of whom picked up 2 wickets each.

While the team will be missing the services of the likes of Faf du Plessis, James Faulkner, and Isuru Udana, the team has brought T20 specialists like Colin Munro and Ben Cutting. Mohammad Amir is yet to receive a NOC from the PCB. However, the team has plenty of quick bowlers who can take his place, including the veteran Indian pacer Sreesanth.
