Pakistan Women

Despite the loss to India, Pakistan should feel good about their performance, as there was fantastic batting from both Bismah Maroof (68 runs from 55 deliveries) and Ayesha Naseem (43 runs from 25 deliveries). They didn’t get much help from the other batters, but if Naseem and Maroof keep this up, then Pakistan will be a threat.

Pakistan really needs to work on their bowling, as India only lost three wickets. Pakistan did a good job of keeping the game close, but apart from Nashra Sandhu (2/15), there was no one else to worry the Indian batters. However, they should be better against Ireland and improve from the last match.

Nida Dar and Fatima Sana definitely underperformed and will be annoyed at themselves, but they can have a revival game. It also hurts to not have fast bowler Diana Baig in the squad due to injury, but the team must do their best.

Ireland Women

Ireland is not to be underestimated, especially after the team beat Pakistan twice in a recent T20 series. The biggest new is that Rebecca Stokell is out due to injury, but there are plenty of good players here.

The batters to watch are Amy Hunter and Gaby Lewis, with Lewis especially in form, as she made two big scores of 71 and 69* against Pakistan recently. She’s one of the best batters in the World Cup, but if she falls early and doesn't get much help, Ireland is in trouble.

The bowling could be iffy, as Pakistan should be able to handle anyone Ireland chooses, but they should be wary of spinner Cara Murray, who took 3/15 against England.
