The Paarl Royals will be looking to confirm their place in the top 4 as they travel to Centurion to face the Pretoria Capitals for their last group-stage match in the SA20.
The Capitals were defeated by the Royals in the reverse fixture earlier this season and will be eager to exact revenge on them.
The Capitals have been one of the most consistent teams in the tournament so far, winning 6 of the 9 matches that they have played so far. As a result, they are currently at the top of the points table and are through to the next stage.
They did however have a forgettable outing during the weekend as they were trumped by the Durban Super Giants by a huge margin. The team was sorely missing the services of their top-scorer of the season, Will Jacks, as the Capitals were bundled out for a mere 103 runs in their chase of a mammoth target of 255.
Phil Salt and Theunis de Bruyn will play an important role at the top of the order as both have been in good form. However, the middle-order batsmen haven’t been in the best of forms and more will be expected of the likes of Colin Ingram, Rilee Rossouw, and James Neesham.
The bowlers had an off day this weekend but have otherwise bowled pretty well throughout this season. Anrich Nortje is the leading wicket-taker for the tournament with 15 wickets and has received good support from Wayne Parnell and Eathan Bosch. Senuran Muthusamy has managed to spin the ball well but hasn’t managed to pick up many wickets.
Philip Salt, Kusal Mendis, Theunis de Bruyn, Rilee Rossouw, Colin Ingram, James Neesham, Senuran Muthusamy, Migael Pretorius, Eathan Bosch, Anrich Nortje, Adil Rashid.
The Paarl Royals haven’t had the best of seasons so far but they have done enough to collect 19 points from 9 matches and as a result, they are 4th on the points table. With the Sunrisers and the Durban Super Giants too having the same number of points, the Royals will be looking to win this one to cement their place in the top-4.
Jos Buttler has been superb in form for the Royals, scoring 308 runs in 9 innings. David Miller to has scored some important runs lower down the order. But the other batsmen have lacked consistency in their performance. Jason Roy, Mitchell van Buuren, and Dane Vilas have struggled to get going.
Evan Jones had done an excellent job with the ball, picking up 12 wickets, and has received some good support from Bjorn Fortuin. Lungi Ngidi to has bowled well and the addition of Andile Phehlukwayo will further strengthen the pace attack. Tabraiz Shamsi however hasn’t been in the best of forms and more will be expected of him going ahead.
Paul Stirling, Jason Roy, Jos Buttler, Mitchell Van Buuren, David Miller, Eoin Morgan, Evan Jones, Andile Phehlukwayo, Bjorn Fortuin, Codi Yusuf, Lungi Ngidi.
The team winning the toss will be looking to bat first here.

The pitch at the SuperSport Park in Centurion is good to bat on and we can easily expect scores of over 170 from the team batting first. While the wicket remains true throughout the match, the spinners might find some help as the game progresses. The weather is expected to be clear with no chance of rain and temperatures in the higher 20's.
The Paarl Royals have already defeated the Pretoria Capitals earlier this season and will be hoping to do so again here. While the hosts have a strong batting line-up, a couple of key players, including Will Jacks, may miss this match. Also, the middle-order for the hosts hasn’t been in the best of forms and may struggle against the quality spin attack from the visitors.
Bet on the Paarl Royals to win.
