SAC vs QSL Match Prediction - Nov 20, 2022

Queensland will launch a fresh assault to reach the summit of the points table, as it takes on South Australia Redbacks in the ongoing season of the Sheffield Shield tournament in Australia.

Queensland is the overwhelming favorite to win this match. But one cannot write off the Redbacks who are capable of making a comeback anytime.

SAC vs QSL Team Previews

South Australia Redbacks

The Redbacks have finished at the bottom of the table in each of the last 5 seasons and this year looks no different. The team has failed to register even a single win in the 4 matches it has played so far and managed to draw just 2. As a result, it is again languishing at the bottom of the points table.

The team has seen a couple of good individual performances but has failed to perform as a unit. Ben Manenti has been a standout player in the squad. He has scored 203 runs from 5 innings and also picked up 11 wickets. Except for Agar, Manenti, and Buckingham, the bowlers haven’t been able to put pressure on the batsmen.

Openers Henry Hunt and Jake Weatherald have given the team a couple of good starts, but the middle-order batsmen have failed to build upon them, leading to South Australia’s downfall.

Queensland

Queensland has lost just one match so far this season, against the defending champions Western Australia. However, it has registered two huge wins, the latest of which came in its previous match, played against Victoria, whom they defeated by an innings and 10 runs. Queensland is currently second on the points table trailing Western Australia by 6 points.

Opener Matt Renshaw scored his maiden double-hundred in first-class cricket but hasn’t been a consistent performer. The other batsmen for Queensland, Michael Neser, Usman Khwaja, Marnus Labuschagne, and Jimmy Peirson are in good touch.

Michael Neser has been one of the standout all-rounders in the tournament, scoring 235 runs and picking up 24 wickets. He has been supported well by Matt Steketee. They are the top two wicket-takers this season. But barring the two, none of the bowlers have been impressive.

SAC vs QSL Toss Prediction

Teams batting first at the Adelaide Oval have enjoyed tremendous success in the longest format of the game. Therefore, the winner of the toss is likely to bat first.

Read our guide on toss predictions to learn how we analyze and come up with our tips.

Pitch and Conditions

The pitch is excellent to bat on and is regarded to be one of the best batting surfaces in the country. The average first innings score here is close to 400, while that for the 2nd and 3rd innings is around 350. Bowlers will need at least 250 on the board to feel comfortable in the 4th innings. While the batsmen enjoy the upper hand on the first 3 days, the spinners will find some turn on the final day.

The weather is expected to be quite windy, with temperatures rarely crossing 20 degrees. The rains might play a spoilsport in the first couple of days but the skies are expected to clear up towards the final day.

SAC vs QSL Betting Tips

We think that Queensland should win this game easily. We have seen them perform authoritatively against weaker teams, and South Australia is the weakest of them all. The batting-friendly pitch at Adelaide will provide the in-form batsmen from Queensland with a perfect opportunity to get big scores.

Bet on a Queensland win.

Henry Hunt and Jake Weatherald are two of the top scorers within the South Australia team. Between them, the duo has scored 4 half-centuries. The flat batting pitch at Adelaide will give them the confidence to go through with their shots, and put up a good opening stand.
