After providing a heroic performance against the West Indies outfit, Scotland appeared to be all set to take down Ireland also. Their bowlers then did a fair job initially to get Ireland to 61 for 4 from 9.3 overs at one stage. But Curtis Campher provided a breathtaking inning with 72 runs from 32 balls that allowed the Irishmen to seal this game with an over to spare.

However, Scotland will not be too disappointed with this effort. Against the West Indian outfit, George Munsey scored 66 runs from 53 balls. Now it was the turn of his fellow opener Michael Jones against Ireland. Jones was able to hold the innings together with a great knock of 85 runs from 55 balls. Their skipper Richie Berrington was also instrumental in playing a good hand with 37 runs from 27 balls. But the Scotland team needs a big performance from their other critical contributor Matthew Cross.

As far as the Scotland bowling attack is concerned, their opening bowlers Brad Wheal and Mark Watt had a bad outing against Ireland. These two bowlers picked up 5 wickets among them in the game against the Windies. Their off-spinner Michael Leask was extremely economical in the competition and his role in the match will be vital for the prospects of Scotland. If you take a close look at Scotland's performance in the last five matches you will find that they have lost four games out of five. This does not augur well for the team.

However, Zimbabwe faltered in the next game against the West Indies where they had to face defeat by a margin of 31 runs. After having restricted the West Indies somewhat to a score of 153 for 7, Zimbabwe started their chase with a bang. However, they tried to be too aggressive and ended up losing too many wickets in the process. This was to cost them the match.

This match against the Scotland outfit is a must-win one for Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe has decided to take an aggressive approach to the competition when they are batting. They will likely continue to keep doing it because this approach gave them results. Their most successful batsman in white ball cricket is Sikandar Raza. He together with Wesley Madhevere will again be the man to watch out for. Unfortunately for Zimbabwe, Sean Williams failed in both games. This experienced batsman will be itching to do special things for his team in this match.

The Zimbabwean bowling attack is in terrific shape. They have a couple of fabulous new ball bowlers in Tendai Chatara and Richard Ngarava. Both these fast bowlers are in great form. In their last game Blessing Murazarbani was a tad expensive, but he is a pretty consistent bowler. He has already taken 4 wickets in this world cup. The off-spin bowling of Sikandar Raza has been pretty handy for Zim, especially in the middle overs. If you consider the record of Zimbabwe in the last five matches you will find that they have 3 out of 5 games while losing the other 2.

Pitch and Conditions

You need to stay at the wicket long enough to get used to the pace and bounce of the track. All seamers will get good bounce and movement from the track.
