Sunrisers Eastern Cape

The Sunrisers have won three out of their previous four matches and have built up some good momentum. A poor batting performance in their previous match against the Joburg Super Kings has just brought them back to earth a bit as their dependence on Aiden Markram becomes clear. 

The batting lineup has not performed as expected so far. Apart from Aiden Markram and Marco Jansen, there is no other batter that has delivered consistently. Tristan Stubbs, Sarel Erwee, and JJ Smuts have all shown glimpses of promise but have not really delivered. 

This is the weak link in their team that bettors have to be wary of.

Sisanda Magala, Marco Jansen, and Roelof van der Merwe have all been quite reliable with the ball. Even the all-rounders have chipped in regularly and have helped the Sunrisers make the most of their resources. It took some terrific individual performances for the Sunrisers to get a couple of their wins but consistent team performances have been hard to come by.

Durban Super Giants

DSG has just lost a bit of momentum in its recent matches. Two losses in its previous two matches have left it at the bottom of the table but with a game in hand, DSG still has time to turn things around. As with the Sunrisers, batting is the problem that DSG cannot seem to solve. 

Things look good when Quinton de Kock is scoring runs but the others need to step up also. Heinrich Klaasen has been excellent but he and de Kock have not fired in the same match too often. Apart from these two, the batting looks thin.

Kyle Mayers, Wiaan Mulder, Jason Holder, Dwayne Pretorius, and Christiaan Jonker are not going to worry too many opposition bowlers. Sure, these players are talented and can score runs but match-winning contributions from them have been rare. 

DSG's bowling unit is average without being outstanding. Reece Topley, Hardus Viljoen, Jason Holder, and Keshav Maharaj are the bowlers that de Kock relies on. Prenalan Subrayen and Kyle <ayers also play important roles but this is a bowling attack that can be put under pressure.
