SLK vs JT Match Prediction & Betting Tips - Sep 07, 2022

It's been disappointing last few days in the Caribbean Premier League with rain playing spoil-sport and keeping the action away from the fans. Despite that, we have already seen plenty happen in the first week of the tournament, setting up the next one to perfection.

Up next in the tournament, we are set to see St Lucia Kings taking on Jamaica Tallawahs in what will be an important game for both these sides. The two sides have had contrasting respective runs up until now and it will be interesting to see how they fare here. The match is to be played on 8th September 2022 at the Darren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, Gros Islet, St Lucia.

SLK vs JT Team Previews

St Lucia Kings

In complete contrast to the Jamaica Tallawahs, St Lucia Kings have had a terrible tournament up until now and a loss here will certainly send the panic bells ringing in their camp. They have lost two matches in a row up until now and another loss here will be the last thing they would want.

As it currently stands on the points table, the Kings are placed at the bottom of the points table with zero points and a pretty poor net run-rate of -0.755. A win here will take them to the fourth spot but a loss will make things extremely difficult for them.

On paper, they have the experience needed to get better of even the best in the business, but have not performed to their potential yet. Their bowling does look a little weak on paper, but they do have the firepower available with the bat to cover that. If they are able to play to their potential, the Tallawahs will have their work cut out.

Jamaica Tallawahs

Jamaica Tallawahs have just been brilliant in the tournament up until now, shrugging off their poor run last year. Thanks to contributions coming in from all departments, they have imposed themselves on their opponents. They started their campaign with a big win over St Kitts and Nevis Patriots and followed that up with close win over Guyana Amazon Warriors.

As it currently stands on the points table, Jamaica Tallawahs are placed at the top of the table with four points to their name. They also have a terrific net run-rate of 1.338, which just highlights how dominant they have been. Having said that, Barbados Royals are breathing right down their neck and the Tallawahs will need a win to stay at the top of the ladder.

On paper, the Tallawahs have an immaculately balanced side with pretty much all bases covered. The likes of Brandon King, Kennar Lewis, and Rovman Powell provide them potency with the bat whereas the presence of Imad Wasim, Fabian Allen, and Chris Green helps them with the balance. They also have Mohammad Amir, who is as good as anyone with the ball. The Tallawahs have been in incredible form and if they can continue to play to their potential, getting past them could prove to be incredibly difficult.

SLK vs JT Betting Tips

While there isn't a lot to choose between the two sides, at least on paper, the form that two sides have shown has been contrasting. The Tallawahs have been brilliant with the execution and the Kings have lacked that application in the middle. Comparing the two sides on all accounts, the Tallawahs certainly look ahead and are, therefore, our pick to emerge as winners in this upcoming contest.
