Malaysia Women

The Malaysian women's cricket team will be hoping that their senior players will show responsibility and put up a decent show with bat and ball against the Sri Lankan side. As far as the Malaysian batting is concerned the team will rely on the players such as Wan Julia, Mas Elysa, Mahirah Izzati Ismail, Elsa Hunter, and Winifred Duraisingram to score most of the runs for Malaysia. In this last game, Malaysia put up a dismal performance with the bat. They were bundled up for 41 runs from 18.5 overs.

As far as the bowling attack is concerned the onus will be with the likes of Sasha Azmi, Aisya Eleesa, Mahirah Izzati Ismail, Winifred Duraisingram, and Nur Dania Syuhada. These will be the bowlers that can get breakthroughs for their team. In the last game for Malaysia, Mahira Izzati Ismail and Sasha Azmi bowled well to pick up a wicket apiece. Three Malaysian batters have scored more than 30 runs so far in the competition. They are Elsa Hunter with 47 runs, Winifred Duraisingram with 38 runs, and Mas Elysa with 31 runs.

The 17-year-old Elsa Hunter made an excellent start to the competition with a score of 29 not out. As far as bowling is concerned the medium-fast bowler for Malaysia Sasha Azmi has picked a wicket a piece in both the last two games. With no wins so far in the competition from 4 attempts, the Malaysian women are lying at the bottom of the table. Malaysia women's cricket team is considered to be the weakest cricket team taking part in Asia Cup 2022. Here they will be looking to avoid another defeat at the hands of Sri Lanka.
