WAC vs QSL Match Prediction - Oct 31, 2022

Western Australia will be looking to move to the top of the points table, as they face Queensland in the ongoing season of the Sheffield Shield tournament.

Both teams are pretty evenly matched when it comes to talent and form. Let’s have a look at how both of them stack up against each other.

WAC vs QSL Team Previews

Western Australia

Western Australia finished at the top of the table in the last season, and is a close second this time around, trailing Queensland by just 1 point.

Hilton Cartwright is in excellent touch and has scored 185 runs at an average of 92 from his 4 innings. He has been ably supported by Teague Wyllie in the middle order. Richard Bancroft too has been in good form, helping Western Australia make some solid starts.

Talking about the bowling, Lance Morris has undoubtedly been by far the best bowler in the squad. His 9/82 against NSW is the best figure for a bowler this season. He has been ably supported by Rocchiccioli, Aaron Hardie, and Joel Paris.

Queensland

The 2020-21 Champions had a poor run of form in the last season and finished 5th. However, they have started their latest campaign with a positive frame of mind, and are currently leading the pack with 10 points.

Marnus Labuschagne and Jimmy Pierson both scored centuries in the first match, while Matt Renshaw scored a well-deserved double-hundred in the last game, and is the top-scorer for his team. The bowling too has been great throughout the season.

Mark Steketee has been in great touch, while Mitchell Swepson and Gurinder Sandhu have kept up the pressure from the other end. Michael Nesser has performed well with both, the bat as well as the ball, picking up 8 wickets and scoring a century lower down the order.

WAC vs QSL Toss Prediction

None of the teams, whether batting first or second, enjoy a significant advantage. The team winning the toss will have to decide whether to bat or bowl, depending on the conditions on match day.

Pitch and Conditions

WACA is considered to be a bowlers’ paradise, with the fast bowlers being able to generate consistent pace and bounce. However, the ground has a fast outfield, which is an advantage to the batting side. The average first innings score here is around 340. Anything above 180 will be difficult to chase here in the 4th innings. The conditions are likely to remain overcast throughout the next week. We may see some interruptions due to rain.

WAC vs QSL Betting Tips

We are predicting a draw here. Both the teams are in great form, especially with the batting. Also, with the chances of rain throughout next week, we may lose some time due to showers or poor lighting conditions.

Bet on a draw.
